    thoughts on brian williams?

what do you think will happen with brian williams? he is a very talented cb and could easily start for most other teams. it would be a shame if he continued to hold out and not play the season. what do you thinik?

I think he has pissed a lot of people off.
I think he is a playmaker.
He may play for us this year but I have a feeling he will be a starting CB for another team after that.

I know you will get a lot of:
    Brian Williams sucks!
Man did you see him getting burned last year!
He was the reason our D sucked!
    Greedy bastage!

Not that I care you started this thread, but if you are truley interested in how fast fans can become enemies of a player I would reference you to these gems of BS.

    Re: thoughts on brian williams?

one thing, williams does not suck. everyone got burned last year at one point. He was not the reason our d sucked last year. that lied with the linebackers. the secondary had to make up for their mistakes which put them out of position and screwed us up. the weakest player on the vikings secondary was probably Brian Russell.

even though i dont agree with him holding out, williams has a better reason to hold out then other players *cough* TO *cough* Walker *cough*. someone came in and took his starting position from him when he deserves to start. that is not a good position to be in. i'd be pissed if i were a good cb and some old cb comes in and takes my position.

since he lost his starting position, now he wants money instead.

he has a reason to be pissed off. it will be a shame if he doesn't play for us this year.

chavous on the other hand needs to suck it up and stop holding out. if he has a great season this year then he should be concerned with th money.

You don't have to convince me, I was just giving you a head start on what is incoming soon so you could prepare

They guy deserves a #2 corner spot somewhere, he is going to be our nickle. Even if he did outplay smoot he wouldn't win his job back. Not with all that cash they have invested at the two starting corners.

I think he will play a limited role on our team and next offseason he will be out of here starting for some team.

He is too slow to be a good corner.

We need him. We can't afford to field anybody with less experience in our nickel package.

"He is too slow to be a good corner".

I disagree. He's a good corner who had a bad year because of injury. He just didn't look THAT good playing opposite Winfield. But he looked a HELLUVA lot better than any of our OTHER corners and LBs in coverage (man that was just painful to watch).

I understand his frustration but he is not helping his case by holding out though. Especially with him being a free agent next year.

Bottom line is that the dude needs to come in and be a team player so that we can win the Super Bowl! Anything else and I don't have any use for him!!!

He is good we should do 1 of 2 things sign give him more $$ & lock him for a few years. We would be solid at corner for the first time in history, or we could do a sign & trade, package in a draft pick for a good RB. But I would like to see him stay. There are a lot of teams out there with 3 good WRs.
