    Re: There's still hope!

In the nfc anything can happen which we all seen on sunday.
I for one would love to make it to the playoffs because its a whole new ball game then.
If we get strong offensive and defensive line play we are a tough team to beat.
We proved it already when we dominated over san diego, that game our offensive line play awesome and our defensive line played better.

There is a reason why they play the games.

    Any given sunday.

There is still hope but not much. I still hope we can do it!
Elite teams? We are not in the AFC here ... and that is where the "elite" team are. I mean, win or lose against Washington, did any of us REALLY expect us to win in Green Bay or Dallas? I don't think we thought it would happen ... it "could" but not likely.
Now, does this make winning in Tampa Bay or Seattle look a little tougher ... of course, but Seattle and Tampa Bay are definitely not elite teams.
I know we are all bummed ... hell, I live in frickin D.C. so it really sucks ... but to say you would rather just lose now and not in the playoff is overdoing it. I mean, is the only definition of a good season winning the Super Bowl? Then I guess sure ... don't go to the playoffs. But you get in ... and simply put ... you got bragging rights over 20 of 32 teams. You upset the Hawks on the road and you suddenly got bragging rights over 24 teams. We all want to win the Super Bowl ... but just because it does not seem to be a reality does not mean we should run around wanting to lose before the playoffs.
What are we scared of? Getting embarrassed on national T.V. against an OK team? Hell, I have been through that the last two weeks (got lucky and won one of them).
Go Cowboys ... and SKOL Vikings in the 2008 playoff picture.

    I couldn't agree more.
I'm shocked to see how many diehard Vikings fans don't even want us to make the playoffs!
Seattle and Tampa aren't all that, neither are New York and we beat them exactly a month ago, Green Bay just got a beat up by Chicago and we only faced them on Monday!
    The NFC is really bad!
Why should we cheer other mediocre teams to the Superbowl just cos we've "exceeded expectations already"?

Let's look at the cold hard facts, we are playing a 6-9 team with nothing to play for and have just got run over by one of the best running backs in the NFL and a young quarterback, sound familiar?

The Skins are playing their playoff bound 13-2 team who also happen to be their fierce rivals.
The odds are stacked in the Skins favour but i'd say its only about 60/40.

    Then we would play Seattle.
    Great team? No.
They just got beat by Carolina and only picked up against a lifeless Ravens team.
Sunday was a load of dross but I predict we'll have a new lease of life next Sunday.

Agree with previous posters, the NFC doesnt have a 'special' team, hopefully we've got a stinker out of our system now and can get back to winning football matches, make the playoffs and see what happens from there.

    Go Vikes!

With home-field advantage in the NFC secured, the Dallas Cowboys have nothing to play for in Sunday's regular-season finale at Washington, which means they are free to rest injured wide receiver Terrell Owens and any other players they want..........
