I doubt the Cards would trade Fitz straight across for Taylor.
If they would, then that would be a steal for the Vikings.
Larry's numbers have not been great this year because Wisenhunt is trying to get his running game going, but Fitz is still a force.
He would be just what TJack needs to make this offense explosive.

    Skill positions:
    AD
    TJack
    Fitz
    Rice
    Wade
    Shiancoe

Then we just need a whole new offensive line w/ the exception of Hutch and we are set for the next 5 years.

Now, I've remained pretty optimistic throughout this rocky season so far, but if Joey Sunshine is saying our QB is good, I am convinced we are doomed.

It's good to know someone without purple shades on still believes in Tavaris.

Did anyone read the end of that article? Fitz would be awesome, but trading Taylor or Winfield? That would be a horrible call.
    Got to give to get.
Taylor is bait, we have to get him some yards this season.
Moore is a very good 3rd down back, I would keep him.

TJ did a great job managing in the first game.
Tried to do too much in the second.
    Now he is injured.

He needs to get healthy and get back to managing until he is more comfortable with the NFL.
    1. Peterson is a better 3rd down back than Moore.
    2. Did you see Peterson at the end of that game? Exhausted. He needs someone to split carries with.
    3. Let's see ow Bush does now that McAlister is done for the year. The main reason that the Saints offense has struggled is because they did not depend on McAlister enough.
    4. Taylor is the rock that holds this offense together. He will make everyone better, including Peterson, when he gets back in there. Don't take him for granted.

I have been awful skeptical of Childress, but I have never straight out called for him to be fired. Bad teams can't afford to lose their good players. If Taylor or Winfield are traded then I will salivate over the day that Wilf takes an axe to Chili's head.

I will say though that it is very unlike Childress to make such a trade.
Peterson is/will be the franchise back.

We can hold on to Taylor who I am not discounting at all, but it is more like holding on to a security blnaket than a good idea for the team, when we have needs at other positions.
I like Taylor a lot, but sooner or later, we need to make a choice.
That is why I say get him some yards this year and deal him.
    Moore can handle 3rd downs.
He has a huge yards per carry average right now being the 3rd down guy, 7.1 avg rushing and 7.7 avg receiving.

I am just saying, that we might try to get something for CT while his value might be high.
CT is worth keeping...it's Mewelde that will most likely be the odd man out...since his contract expires after this season.
Just another situtation where we have no leverage!

I honestly wouldn't mind keeping Taylor.
I was one of the first people on this site that said that Taylor was worth getting when we signed him.
I am just saying that we have other areas to fill besides RB, like maybe an OL.
I don't think that a CT trade is going to get us a OL directly, but we could package a deal to manuver in the draft order with extra picks from a trade.
    Who knows?
I just want to play out the rest of this season before jumping to the offseason.
    [/quote]

If you where one of the first, then I was there also....LOL
From day one, I knew CT was a great signing for us.
I'de seen him play for the Ravens, and always said to myself, this guy could start for most NFL Teams.....Glad then and still glad today we got him......He is for sure a talented player with alot of heart....

When Taylor returns, Moore will never see the field, and we'll all be amazed at how our top two backs can dominate a game.

That is not a slight to Moore, but a high compliment to AD and Taylor.

It is difficult not to be discouraged by TJack's performance thus far.
But, we have to consider that he has limited offensive talent on his side.
He has some good backs, but he has no help from the receivers.
Our play calling does nothing to put him in a favorable position.
Fitzgerald would look great in a Viking uniform.
I would not give up Winfield for him, but I would consider giving up Chester Taylor.
I would hate to lose Chet, but if that is what it takes to get one of the top receivers in the league then I say go for it.
I havn't heard anything about Arizona trading Fitzgerald, did I miss something? Plus they have Edgerain James, why would they want Chestor Taylor?
I guess Fitz wants out now that their offense is geared towards the run.
In the last sentence of the article posted the writer states that acquiring Fitzgerald would make the Vikings relevant again.
Are offense is geared toward the run to so why would he want to come to Minny?

Re: Theismann thinks Vikings' Tarvaris Jackson will be OK

There are alot of good points on whether or not it would be a good or bad trade if we traded CT and obtained Fitz.
I was also one of the ones saying what a great pick up he was.
    I still think he is.
However, in our scenerio we need a true #1 WR.
Fitz would be a great pick up and well worth trading CT for.
I am not putting down CT in any way.
He and AP make a great team.
However, Moore can be pretty effective himself.
Can you imagine how well it will help the running game having a WR like Fitz?
Defenses will have to respect Fitz and actually cover him.
Right now teams are stacking the box and able to blitz.
We know there are problems with the front line so why not do something to alleviate that situation.
Having Fitz would make it difficult to continuously stack the box and blitz.
Defenses are teeing off now giving the QBs no time to throw.

As much as I like CT, if there was a way to get Fitz I would say pull the triigger.
The other question is would Fitz want to go to MN.
    I say he would.
It's his home and even though TJ is young the long term plan is to be more of a passer.
that's the way it was with McNabb as well.

Again, the main reason Fitz wants out of Arizona is because he's not getting a lot of balls thrown his way. He would get even less here in our WCO system. Ergo, he wouldn't want to come here & play. It's a worse scenario than what he has today.

    Why can't people see that?

Do they honestly believe if we got a WR like Fitz, Childress would throw his WCO system right out the door & change it?

Especially when T-Rich returns to block for them. Think Larry Johnson doesn't wish T-Rich was still there?
T-Rich was a huge factor in Priest Holmes success. And he will be for Taylor and Peterson if he stays healthy. Vikes could be a new offense. A time of posession monster. Also should help the passing game some.
