I enjoyed this season. I enjoyed watching the games every week. I loved watching AD run for the record. I loved beating the Pack at home and knocking the Bears out of the playoffs. I loved seeing a 3-13 team with the 30th ranked pass defense and an offense that made you cry to a 10-6 wild card team with the 11th best pass defense and an offense that was averaging almost 30 points a game in the last four weeks. We are moving in the right direction, and I am PUMPED for next season!

Out of those games... I have 4 games I feel we should win easily. Everything else is a toss up.

Well after 22 years of hoping for a Vikings championship (there are two words you don't see together) this is just about as good as it has gotten for me as a Vikings fan, aside from the NFC Championship losses and the 4 Super Bowl losses. Yep, making the playoffs and/or the Super Bowl and losing is the pinnacle for us thus far. To be fair, I did enjoy watching this team as they played hard, winning seven more games than last year, and Peterson may go down as my favorite all-time Viking, a position currently held by Alan Page. But I am growing weary of waiting for next year after 22 years. I just want one damn Lombardi trophy for the Vikings before I check out. Cripes, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, and freakin' St. Louis have one. That hurts, it really does.

Some in here I don't think are old enough to really feel the pain we 50 somethings have. You will have to look long and hard to find a franchise that has stuck the knife to us much more than these chokers we root for. We dominated the NFC for the good part of a decade in the 70's and what do we get to show for it. Dominating records, 4 NFC Championships and laying total fuking eggs in all four SB's. We were embarrassed in all of them.

The 80's we get a surprise team that goes into San Fran and just murders the best team in football and destroy the Saints, only to go to Washington and have Disco Darren drop the ball at the goal line. Another dagger.

We get to the 90's and have the most explosive offense in NFL history and what do we do with that? We take a fuking knee with time left on the clock and get beat in overtime when our kicker who has not missed in almost 2 years, 38 in a row decides to miss wide left in pretty much a game winning field goal.

We get to 2000 and go to the NFC Championship again and go to New York and get totally embarrassed 41-0 to the Giants... Just shoot us... and put us out of our misery

We then all these wonderful memories...Jerry fuk this fuk that Burns, Les Steckel, Bob Schelker, the Herschell Walker trade, Mike Lynn, the Love Boat, Mike Tice hocking SB tickets, the Randy Ratio, the Wizzinator, Randy and Cris the prima donnas, and to top it off we get a playoff game against our arch rival in their house and are relegated to an absolutely overmatched, embarrassing backup that after the first series was almost to embarrassing to even talk about he was so ill prepared and bad. What a great history. I can't wait till next year when we stick with a qb that obviously cannot be an elite qb, more low cost free agents, except for Carslon who has to be the biggest flop I've ever seen. Another year of AP and a system that can't win a SB in the new era of Arena football. I can't wait..

No doubt that this season really cannot be looked at as anything other than a huge success.

AD was a treat to be sure, and for the first half of the season so was Percy. The defense was MUCH improved and with the youth we have, we will likely get better. With the draft and free agency coming up we should be able to improve because FAs should see us as a team on the rise and the draft will help fill holes.

Definitely have to be very happy with how things panned out on a team that was only able to limp to three wins just a year earlier.

AP should actually be hitting his PRIME too ... we should get at least three more superstar years out of him (assuming his knee holds up) as he starts to chase down some of the greatest names in the history of the league.

It is a shame that the playoff game was SUCH a major disappointment. It really leaves a bad taste on what was a really special year to be a Vikings fan. There were no real bad losses and a handful of really solid wins. Looking forward to next year already.

Oh ... don't be so damn negative. Really? The NFC East is murderers row? Then what division in the NFC would you not call murderers row? Because the East probably has more holes than any other division in the NFC right now.

The AFC North is no worse or no better than the AFC East and the AFC South honestly ...

It is just another football schedule. They are what they are. This year we played Houston, Seattle, Washington and Indy on the road and survived. That is FOUR playoff teams in THEIR house. We also played San Francisco in our house ... ANOTHER playoff team.

In 2013 we have SIX games against opponents from the 2012 playoffs ... this season we played SEVEN games against teams in the 2012 playoffs (six games against teams from the 2011 playoffs). People love to make big deals about schedules every year and who gets who ... but the truth is ... it is an 8-8 league. EVERYTHING is a toss up.

You just make the best moves you can make and hope to be a team worthy of 10-6 to at least get in or make some real noise and get to 12-4.

All in all ... the 2013 schedule is NO MORE DIFFICULT THAN THIS YEAR'S schedule according to the records of the teams we are playing. We got one extremely difficult road game and that is at Seattle. We got lucky and ducked going to Philly (a place we notoriously play badly) and ducked going to Pittsburgh. Dallas, the Giants and the Baltimore on the road are no slouches, but they all lose bad games at home every year.

I am with you in saying this won't be easy. Because the NFL schedule is NEVER easy. There are always good teams rising and former good teams dropping. But I will say that it certainly does not look as daunting as this year's schedule and we managed that just fine.

It sucks having been a Viking fan since I was a kid and never been lucky enough to watch them win the whole thing. With that said, I will be a Viking fan nonetheless. I am proud of what this squad accomplished and I am very excited about the upcoming season.

Ive been a fan since 1970. Ive seen the Vikings lose in many ways. My heart has been broken, and I wear it on my sleeve. Chairs have been thrown out the front door. I am loyal to the end. A season of football ending in January and not be over in October is a GOOD THING. So many things have to go right in order just to get to the big game. Then you have to put in even more effort to win it. If it were easy, all teams would have at least one SB win. Even if you had the Steelers defense and the Patriots offense would not guarantee a SB victory. I thought that this year was great because the Vikings exceeded all expectations.

Agreed.

It wasn't so long ago that we watched a 16-0 Patriot team end up 18-1 because they couldn't close the deal. Winning a Super Bowl is a special, special achievement & no one is entitled to enjoy a Super Bowl win. It is disappointing to be sure but if it does happen in our lifetimes that will make it that much sweeter.
