Thank God we had a big offseason
I dont mean to bring morale down, but we are missing our starting running back, tight end, and DE, along with Irvin, and some others are banged up like Moe and Rushen. Last year, we were fortunate to not have many injuries( Michael Bennett was huge though), but this year its not the case. I think that our depth at RB has proved to be a lifesaver, and our d-line was practically saved, for now, by drafting Udeze. Since we will be getting both Bennett and Mixon back relatively soon, my main concern is at tight end now. Does anyone think Jermaine can fill Saussers shoes to an acceptable extent?

Jermaine is not a good blocking TE, I like the idea of moving a lineman over and having him do the blocking. Do any of our bakcup lineman have good hands?

Dugan can handle the blocking but is not a threat for receiving, so were fine in 2 and 3 TE sets, but its when we would have sass in the backfield that is tough to replace

do we need a pass catching TE? We've got so many other options at reciever and running back.

You always want that threat there and having a TE slip into the middle can gain you a few extra 1st downs or TDs.What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Agree with whackthepack, a TE who can go deep middle is one of the best ways to attack a cover 2 defense, especially with the Vikings having a receiver that gets double and triple teamed.
