Tell me about Tomlin

Hey guys... I'm back.
I know you all missed me...
:P

Anyway... I am here to talk about Tomlin.
As you all know, the Fins are VERY interested in Tomlin... and will be bringing him back for a 2nd interview.

Tell me about him... I hear he is a young an energetic coach.

Also, and one of the main reasons I came here... tell me about his defense.
I assumed that he ran a basic Tampa2... but I have heard otherwise.
Does he mix it up alot? Different formations?
Blitzes?
I am really curious as to how his defense works...

Keep your 'Nasty' claws off of our D-coordinator

He is a very energetic coach. That runs a Tempa-2 type Defense.

He is not affraid to mix things up if it is needed, but the base of his formations has been the Tempa-2.

It's a 1-gap defense, where various defenders from the front 7 hits a hole in the line hard at the snap.

It has worked as you know well against the run. The reason our pass-D has been less than stellar - aside from the fact that we fased 40-50 passattempts a week - were the lack of passrush that were produced by our front four.

And because Erasmus James was out for the Season, people tend to double team Udeze and Kevin Williams in order to give the QB more time, as Pat Williams is a runstopper that does not rush the QB that good, our only real threat at the passrush has been 2nd string DE Darrion Scott..

QB's has been given all day to throw and that has been the problem all year, not the secondary.. imo

It's allmost Ray Edwards that were the best rusher. I think he had an ok rookie season as a situational passrusher.
