TE still unaddressed
I was talking NFL with a guy who follows the NFL a LOT, and breaks the NFL down constantly. He is not a Vikings fan. He made the comment that tight end is the Vikings' weak spot. I agree. I am surprised we didn't address this issue, either in the draft or free agency.
I realize we have Shiancoe, but he really has not shown me anything yet.

Shank has loss weight and is makinf big catches in practice. We can only hope he will do the samething this season. It' too late to addr now. So lets pray he improves.

Re: TE still unaddressed
I would rather know that a guy can do it, rather than "hope" he does it. We already have a starter on the offense (Tarvaris) who we are "hoping" will "develop". I am getting nervous about this. I know that AP can do it and Chester can do it, and I know that Hutchinson can do it, and I know that Berrian can do it. But we now have two key skill players who are resting on a cloud of "hope" to take us deep into the playoffs.

Some say we don't need a pass catching TE as our Offense doesn't call for one. I would like to have a consistant threat at TE but I would also like to have Marino @ Qb. Both are not going to happen. The best we can do now is pray that the FO knows what is best for the offense and hope that both our Qb and TE live up to expectations.I would rather know that a guy can do it, rather than "hope" he does it. That pretty much sums up all we can do right there. We are not in NFL FO's for a reason. Lets hope the ones that are there know what they are doing."StillPurple" wrote:

LMAO you act like Tarvaris the only guy we are hoping will develop. I would get used to the "Develop" because we will be doing plenty of it with plenty of different players throughout the Childress era.I would rather know that a guy can do it, rather than "hope" he does it. Anyways back the TE deal, it can get a little worry some if Shancoe goes down with an injury, most likely we would be left with Kliensasser and Mills who beasted it in college, spent time with Patriots and is now with us. I'm not too worried.
If TE is the only one position that is weak we should be very happy, although IMO there is nothing to worry about. Just somebody looking for a way to bring about some sort of negativity, that Viking history instilled in the mindset.

Re: TE still unaddressed
Signing a TE to a multi-year contract addresses the TE position for multiple years.
Shank is the guy."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

Shank has GOT to step up this year.
As it played out, I like our draft.
I would say QB play is our biggest potential issue
;D, although, I'm not going there.

Re: TE still unaddressed
Between Shank and Mills and Kleinsasser I am not worried about the TE spot.
