Re: Taylor's fumbles aren't seen as sign

"We're not subscribing to the theory that we're a miserable pass defense," defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin said Thursday. "The reality is that people attempt more passes against us than anyone else. Reports of our demise as it regards pass defense are drastically overrated.
The Vikings do lead the league with an average of 36.6 passing attempts/game against their defense.
The range is 25.9 to 36.6, so there is quite a large diffference, that's what you get with the #1 run defense (the ole chicken or the egg).

The teams with the least amount of passing attempts/game against their D are:

    Raiders 25.9
    Colts 26
    Rams 27.9
    Ravens 29.8

The teams with the most passing attempts/game against their D are:

    Vikings 36.6
    Bengals 35.7
    Titans 35.2
    Browns 34.6
    Broncos 34.5
    Giants 34.5
    Packers 34.1...

Obviously, if the offense was performing this would be a non-issue considering how few pts the defense has held teams to this year.

Good point Acumen. Our problem is not our defense, not a single aspect of it. It's our offense. Is our defense perfect? No, but they've played lights out all season, even their bad games are some team's best games (ok the pat's game was an excpetion) but if we had an offense, like the one that showed up at seattle, even though it was the best we could asked for, it did produce. If that offense showed up every game, we'd arguably be neck and neck with ChiTown

Okay I heard something I think maybe on NFL network or something about how taylor might be wearing down and getting a little tired... now i am not saying they are right but he has takin a lot of carries this year, and for not being used to carrying the load he might just be. But my question is C-Fase (Ciatrick Fason) injured or just been suckin it up during practice, cuz i would not mind seeing him get a few carries here and there to help split the load. he is a pretty good size back but it would make sense if he was injured haha anwyays peace

I'll say this, CT is a workhorse, and I don't think he's getting tired. But only CT knows if he's tired or not and I would hope some of his coaches would know that info also.
If he is tired, all we have to do is give him some more frequent breathers and put MM in there a bit more.
    MM, from
what I've seen this season, is playing some solid ball himself........I haven't seen our running game drop off at all when MM has been pluged in there......Personaly, I think it's the strongest part of our O right now, the running game....

and if our OL opened up the holes that much better then CT wouldn't be constantly battering against two or more defenders every time he carried the ball. If you keep the tacklers down then thats gotta help keep him a little more fresher

Re: Taylor's fumbles aren't seen as sign

His fumbles were in crunch time and potentially lost the Chicago game and the Miami game.

I am not upset with him.
The team hasn't put themselves in better situations.
If we didn't have more glaring issues staring us in the face, I mean if we were winning, these fumbles would stand out more and we would be BASHING Chester like all other numbskulls that don't do what they are suppose to.

He just fumbled again against Arizona for a td. Why did you have to bring up that Chicago fumble-that hurt.

That wasn't a fumble at all. Can't count that.

Re: Taylor's fumbles aren't seen as sign

Every week when i turn on the vikings game, all i hear is how Chester is getting worn out with all of his carries. If he was getting worn down wouldn't his numbers be getting worn out??
