Re: Taylor zeros in on 1,200
Hopefully he'll be able to make a full recovery and be able to play in the last three games. If so he shouldn't have a problem getting to 1,300!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

Re: Taylor zeros in on 1,200
I hope Chester gets back on his horse and finishes the season strong. If by chance we do make the playoffs, it would be nice to have him healthy.
I forgot we play Thursday this week too. Two games in five days in December...this will show us what we're made of for sure.Briefly: Because they play the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Childress said his players will get the game plan on Monday. The game will be televised locally on KSTP Ch. 5.
We control our own destiny, and if we win tomorrow and Thursday, we'll have more than a week to prepare for the Rams. We can do this!

Re: Taylor zeros in on 1,200
Yeah, the next five days we're really gonna see what our boys are made of! I agree, that if we win these next two, we should be able to beat the rams at home to end the season! I don't want us to get ahead ourselves, but it is doable if our O doesn't turn the ball over and our d can make some plays!

Re: Taylor zeros in on 1,200
it would be sweet if taylor topped 13000 yds.
whats the vikings single season rushing record? it can't be too much higher than that.

That'd be an average of 3,967 yards (2.25 miles) per game in the next three. Not to shabby.
Go Chester! I believe!

Re: Taylor zeros in on 1,200
1000 yards has been the measuring mark for runningbacks.
Back when 12 games were played that was 83.3 yards a game.
The 16 game season means a back needs 62.5 yards a game.
So a 1333 yard season is online with the 1000 yard backs of the past 12 game backs.
Just a thought

Re: Taylor zeros in on 1,200
This thread was started to honor CT's effort this season; but, does any of you think that Childress' committment to the run seemed a little too predictable, thus stagnating our offense this season?
You have to admit, CT gets a lot of touches, and his rushing average is 4.1, but most usually comes from a big run.
I haven't been impressed by his ability to pound the ball for 4-5 yards...usually its 1-2 yards with a big break.
In my Vikings circle, we have a joke that Childress' play calling is limited to "Run, Run, Pass, Punt."
To compound matters, Mewelde Moore, Pinner, and Fason have all done a terrific job when given the opportunity; all have a higher rushing average.
I kind of get the impression that Childress have specific guys that he likes, and that's it.
Being one of the worst in the Red Zone...something isn't working.
