EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Travis Taylor came to Minnesota hoping to play with a better quarterback and catch more passes than he did in Baltimore.
Taylor was a top-10 pick out of Florida six years ago, but playing with eight different quarterbacks in a run-first offense had him itching to get out of town.
He signed with the Vikings in the offseason in large part because he wanted to work with Daunte Culpepper rather than the unimpressive group he had with the Ravens - Randall Cunningham, Anthony Wright, Kyle Boller, Jeff Blake, Chris Redman, Elvis Grbac, Tony Banks and Trent Dilfer.
The numbers haven't been there this season for Taylor or the Vikings normally high-powered offense, but Taylor says he is in a better situation heading into Sunday night's game against the struggling Ravens.
He is second on the team with 42 receptions and has 496 yards receiving, helping the Vikings dig out of a 2-5 start to challenge for a playoff spot.
"Being a receiver, you want to catch a lot of balls," Taylor said. "Your group wants an opportunity to make some plays. We didn't get that in Baltimore."
"If at first you don't succeed, parachuting is not for you"

Re: Taylor happy to be out of Baltimore
Interesting timing on this thread, I played golf yesterday with a guy who lives next door to Taylors parents. He basicly said TT's Mom had said much the same things. He talked about how good of a human being TT is in addition to being a great football player.
Heres to hoping he has many a breakout season with the Vikes to come.

Taylor has been kinda quiet since he begining of the season. He still has been a huge contributor for us.
