Tarvaris wants to stay in Minnesota
Tarvaris wants to stay in Minnesota
Honestly, I hope he does stick around. I think he is a very good back up. Probably one of the best backups in the league....with Favre's track record, Jackson has no way of knowing whether he'll have a chance to be the Vikings' starting quarterback in 2010.
But Jackson still says he wants to remain in Minnesota.
Jackson told Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press that he wants to stick around, although he says he's heard nothing from the team about a new contract. Jackson will be a restricted free agent this off-season.
...
I don't think the TJack is starter material, but I am willing to be proven wrong in the event that Favre doesn't come back.Zeus wrote:

Good choice Tarvaris. I doubt you'll be regarded nearly as highly around rest of the league.

Re:Tarvaris wants to stay in Minnesota
He's a top notch backup at this juncture of his career. As long as he is not gifted the starting slot and competes for it against someone that is better than the Bollingers of the world I am fine with it.

Good for him. He knows this is the best place to be.

Re:Tarvaris wants to stay in Minnesota
Him saying he wants to stay I take with a grain of salt, of course he's gonna say that.
Truth is he wants to be where he can make the most money, all players do.
I think there will be some other teams that will be interested though. His numbers are not so bad, and he has improved every year.
QB rating comp% avg int/td ratio
2006 - 62.5 58.0 5.9 2
2007 - 70.8 58.2 6.5 1.33
2008 - 95.4 59.1 7.1 .222
2009 - 113.4 66.7 9.6 0
Okay so that is beyond missleading, but it's still cool to look at.

Re:Tarvaris wants to stay in Minnesota
I don’t see him as a quarterback that can lead a team to the super bowl, but he does make an excellent backup.

Re:Tarvaris wants to stay in Minnesota
I'd be happy to keep him on the team. I'm not convinced yet he's starter material either (especially watching what a great QB can do with this offense), but worst case scenerio is he makes a hell of a backup...or starts, does poorly and ruins our season, lol
Either way, sign him!
