Childress said Jackson completed 3 of 4 passes against the blitz, though there was one fumbled exchange from center in the shotgun formation and another play in which Jackson would have likely been sacked by Jared Allen if contact on the quarterback was allowed.
Couple of bad nuggets in there.........
:
Couple of things

Snap fumble....yeah, but that could be the fault of Birk, missed snap count, backup center, or other things.

Sack....could have been someone on the line not doing their job.
Yeah, T-Jack should get rid of it, but he should also make smart decisions.
Maybe he felt the smart decision was take the sack and live for another play, rather than try to get off a pass out of play or a intentional grounding, or a pick.

I am hoping/expecting for great things from T-Jack this year.
Actually, it was someone doing there job. Jared Allen.

It is, afterall, what we pay him to do. If Allen wasn't getting any pressure, I'd start to worry. Especially coming from McKinnies side.

Re: Tarvaris Jackson handles blitz - Poise is not just noise

Jackson wants to show poise isn't just noise

Vikings' maturing quarterback will test his mettle -- briefly -- against the Seahawks in preseason opener.

I only saw one bad nugget in there Marr. Sure T_Jack would have been sacked by JA, but that is what we pay JA to do.

It's Jared fricken Allen for crying out loud!

If JA wasn't getting into the QB's faces, that would be a bad nugget.
Nope, still count it as 2 bad nuggets.

1.
Fumbled Snap.
Hopefully that goes away as Birk/TJ work on that.

2.
JA sack.
So I guess, cause JA is supposed to get sacks its OK that Big Mac allows sacks against the premier pass rushers....... :
Nope, I still count that as a bad nugget.

Now you could turn it around though and say it is a good nugget as well.
JA beat out Big Mac and is gonna be worth his money if you want to go down that road.

Still makes me worry about Big Mac and the speed rushers this year.

Lets get some insider info......

CAP J/Vikes_King.
Has the staff been letting Big Mac deal with JA by himself or have they been helping out with a TE?
Has JA been taking some snaps on the LDE side and if so, how as Cook been doing?
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

MANKATO, Minn. - On the day it finally became official that Brett Favre won't be playing quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings this season, the guy who will be didn't let out a sigh of relief or jump up and down or shout "Free at last, free at last." ...

It didn't say Birk was the one who was at center. Sullivan could have been taking some reps with Jackson.

It all depends on how you want to look at it whether it's a good nugget or bad nugget when talking about the sack. I tend to look at the positive, rather than the negative.

For instance, I'm greatful it was an exchange with Jackson that got botched & not an exchange with Favre. Certainly you must agree with that?

I'm with ya Marr, McKinnie has struggled with speed rushers his entire career.
IMO, he hasn't yet lived up to where he was drafted, and the $ the Vikings have invested in him.
I'm no expert on offensive linemen, but he seems kinda lazy at times.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good LT overall, but not as good as he could be if he tried a little harder.

I wish I would have typed Center instead of Birk after I read my post.
I knew you would come running to his defense from ole Marrdro hacking on him.
