    Tank re-signs

    http://www.startribune.com/blogs/vikings/

Judd Zulgad reports that Safety Tank Williams has re-signed with the vikings. Apparently he is receiving the veteran minimum for a 1 year contract.

Based on all those tackles he made in training camp?

I'm glad they resigned Tank, but we really don't know anything about what he's capable of after his second major injury in 3 years.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I like seeing him come back and hope he picks up where he left off, just before the injury.

He was having a hell of a camp and I think he was really trying to start a new as a Viking....

    Hope he's 100%

Yeah I hope that he can come back 100%. Going into next season with a Dwight Smith, Tank, Greg Blue, and Sharper combo is great in my mind.

Good one. I thought he might come back.

Actually this could mean also that Dwight Smith will get the axe

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

I have no doubt that Dwight is gone after this signing.
He was Tomlin's guy that we signed after Tank went down.
His escapade in the stairwell, the fact that Blue has shown he can play, Tomlin being gone and Tank being back means bye-bye to Smith.

This all but assures that Dwight Smith will no longer be a Viking.. A combo of Sharper, Williams, and Blue as our safeties is just fine with me.. If Tank is 100%, it would be nice to see him and Sharper as our starters with a young and hungry Greg Blue waiting for his chance..

Unless, of course, Frazier wants to convert Smith back into a corner.
I've read nothing about this, so this is pure speculation on my part.

Smith does have that flexibility as a player....
