    T. Jackson to have surgery

    Disturbing news

Friday, September 22nd, 2006 by Kevin Seifert

Rookie quarterback Tarvaris Jackson suffered cartilage damage in his right knee during practice Thursday and likely will have surgery Monday, Vikings coach Brad Childress said today.

Childress predicted a recovery timetable of around a month, similar to the time it took rookie cornerback Charles Gordon to recover from a similar procedure this summer.

Childress said he was not sure how the team would handle its No. 3 quarterback position Sunday against Chicago. But it seems the Vikings will need to identify a position player who can play in an emergency if starter Brad Johnson and backup Brooks Bollinger are both injured and can’t play during the game.

More to come on this issue.

    , glad it's short-term.
Put Longwell in as the #3.
If we have to go to Bollinger and then down to whomever is deemed #3 it won't really matter who it is.
    They will be doomed.

    Wow this really sucks!
Let's hope Brad can stay healthy because I really don't trust Bollinger at all.
I wonder who is left out there for a #3 QB?

At first I was like not big deal but then I stoped and remembered how the injury bug has been bitting again it made me shudder and pray that Brad stays healthy for the next month if not for the whole year.

I think the vikings should put Carter on the roster.
I believe he played QB in high school.
He could be an Emergancy backup.

I never make stuff up out of the blue in the title, just sometimes a little deceiving on how it's posted.

    This is bad news though.
I'm not so concerned in the short-term, just hopeful that he's not an injury waiting to happen in the long-term.

Longwell has the best passer rating in the league, i bet he will be the number 3.

Man we are having way to many injuries this season.

This really sucks and with Bollinger not having any playing time with the team if Brad goes down we are in trouble.
I would have felt more comfortable having T-Jack go in and or to replace Bollinger if he stunk the place up.

Will we pick up another QB while T-Jack recovers or risk it and hope that the worst doesn't happen.
The best candidate for a quick 3rd stringer is McMahon (puke), or J.T O'Sullivan but he might have signed elsewhere.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
