T-jack to compete in QB challange

    http://www.caymanislands.ky/general_information/nfl.aspx

The 2007 DIRECTV NFL Quarterback Challenge in the
    Cayman Islands May 18-21

Premier NFL quarterbacks will compete in four skills competitions testing accuracy, speed and mobility, long distance throwing and the “No Huddle” drill. Top NFL receivers will also be on hand. Events begin Saturday at 10:00 am and continue through 2:00 pm.

    Scheduled to compete

7 Michael Vick, QB (Atlanta Falcons)
17 Jake Delhomme, QB (Carolina Panthers)
84 TJ Houshmandzadeh, WR (Cincinnati Bengals)
85 Chad Johnson, WR (Cincinnati Bengals)
9 Charlie Fry, QB (Cleveland Browns)
17 Braylon Edwards, WR (Cleveland Browns)
14 Brad Johnson, QB (Dallas Cowboys)
7 Byron Leftwich, QB (Jacksonville Jaguars)
7 Tarvaris Jackson, QB (Minnesota Vikings)
11 Alex Smith, QB (San Francisco 49ers)
17 Jason Campbell, QB (Washington Redskins)
85 Brandon Lloyd, WR (Washington Redskins)

Not sure when it will be shown on TV, But I am curious as to how he will do. Weird That Brad Johnson is part of it or not. Not sure if it gives alot of credibility with who is competing or anything if T-jack does well or poor.

I honestly don't think TJ will win any of the events, he might come 2nd in some, but Vick will probably take home the speed + mobility challenge, as well as mabye long distance throwing, BJ will probably get no huddle, and accuracy is up for the taking

It's good publicity, it's a chance to shine in the spotlight, and it's a great place to showcase his skills.

    Let's see what he's got.

This should be good experience for him, and hopefully it helps his confidence.

I actually think that it will be pretty close.I will go with Vick but possibly not by much.

I wouldn't just write him off.
He must have some hope of at least walking on the field with these guys or the network wouldn't put him out there.

    Some data, not my opinion.......

    TJ 40 Speed: 4.67
Vick 40 Speed: 4.25 (Prior to knee injuries)

    POSITIONAL FACTORS
    Grade Category Comments/Description
5.0 Technique He has a side-arm flick type throwing motion, although it is quick, and he does not stride into or follow through on passes.
6.0 Arm Strength He has the arm strength to make all the throws with good zip when he strides into his throws.
6.5 Convert Pct. He consistently converted over 61-percent of key downs into first downs -- he showed clutch ability.
5.5 2nd Lives He has the ability to be excellent, but he tends to wait in the pocket too long before trying to escape which leads to sacks.
6.5 Accuracy Short in Pocket Despite inconsistent throwing technique, he is an accurate passer who can only get better as his technique improves.
6.5 Accuracy Long in Pocket He has shown the ability to throw deep down field with accuracy and zip when he strides into and follows through on throws.
6.0 Accuracy on the Move He is not asked to do it often, but on the few chances he had, he threw the ball accurately and with zip.
7.0 Big Plays He consistently comes up with big plays -- his ability to throw deep passes accurately makes him very good.
6.5 Under Pressure He does a good job staying calm in the face of pressure and will stand strong vs. a heavy rush.
5.0 Leadership/Poise He does an adequate job as a leader, but is not a vocal, take-command-of-the-team type leader.
6.5 Read Defenses He reads defenses consistently well and does a good job looking off the safety and coming back to throw to an open receiver.
6.5 Big Errors Despite his inconsistencies, he does not throw the ball up for grabs and has shown a willingness to throw the ball away.

for those of you who dislike/hate Vick (I fall into this category) you can't deny that he is one of the most mobile qb's ever.
You can't run for 1000+ yds as a qb and not be fast and agile.
he did that last year, after his knee injuries.
he also has one of the most powerful arms in the league, he just can't aim his throws.

That's because he's a running back who has a decent throw.
    Not the other way around
