Young did not play in the first game at all.

Makes no sense at all.. until you apply logic to the situation.

Young did not play at all week 1 of the preseason.

Starters rarely ever play that long in week 4 of the preseason.

Jackson would be playing with other players who he would not be playing with during the regular season, including Center Matt Birk.

It seems like a great idea to have your first team in there, until you see a second stringer go down in a meaningless game..
Then you are like I am glad that the first string wasn't in there.

Just in case you missed this thread. The photo is graphic and real.

We can't have it both ways.

    Have to edit.......
You can have it both ways but when the last game is meaningless, and you are just trying to evaluate the scrubs and give them one last chance to show they can play and possibly one last chance to be on a pro field, why take chances with the starters.
It would be different if they didn't have scrubs to evaluate, coaches would concentrate on momentum.
Maybe starters would not play the first game and play the last games.
    Who knows?

All that I was really trying to say, is that I'd have liked to see T.J. and the other first stringers in there for maybe another series early in the games throughout the first 3 games of the preseason.
    I wasn't talking about tying
him up to a tree with the backups, and waiting for the wolves!!!!!

I wonder what it would have been like to have Greenway last year?

Pretty dangerous dance the coaching staff does/goes through as they balance reps vs injuries.
I for one am pretty happy with what I saw and think the staff did pretty good all things considered.

By the way, I still blame our damn defense for hogging the ball against the Jets for messing up TJ's reps.
Hope they do that alot this year.
