I say thank god we didn't do something stupid like that! If we are gonna trade bennett or onterrio, we need to get a good player in return, like ogunleye, plus a 1st. They are the desperate ones, so they need to overpay us, if they want a RB.
Desperate or not, there is no way the Dolphins would trade Ogunleye AND a 1st round pick for either Bennett or Smith. That would just be insane. Overpaying is one thing, being stupid is another. Frankly, getting Ogunleye straight up (maybe some cash to help pay his signing bonus) would be about the best I could see the Dolphins doing.

Actually according to VU, they were willing to give up a 1st and a starter. What better starter is there to trade than a guy who is gonna sit out until they give him a contract, that the teams has no plans to do? If that starter was greenwood, then hell no. Yes, onterrio was a 4th round pick, but he has much more value to us, than a 4th. Bennett is a small RB, who is likely to get hurt if he carries the ball 25 times a game. If bennett were to get injured again, we wouldn't skip a beat if onterrio stepped in for him. Onterrio is also that bigger RB that we will need once Moe is gone. Even though the deal is dead on our part, I still say I wouldn't have given onterrio or bennett for less than a 1st and ogunleye. We could have given them a player with bennett, like mixon, johnstone, or darrion scott, to replace the missing DE. I realize now that no way this will happen, but that is what I feel we would have needed to get offered for tice to even think about trading. Tice has high hopes for our young RB's as do I, so it would take a huge offer from someone to give one up.

After this season, if we get a chance to see onterrio more, and also mewelde moore, then we might look to trade one of them. But only if both mewelde morre and onterrio look good, as expected.

Also this deal really made no sense, since we would rather keep nattiel, than switch him with greenwood. Miami, I believe, gave up their 2nd round pick in the AJ feely trade with philly. Wilkins only real value to us would be at kick returner, but we are pretty happy to have mewelde moore and howry to do that. So this rumor looked pretty false to begin with.

    Supposed onterrio trade squashed

    I'm sorry.

Why, again, shouldn't we trade our second string running back, second string Linebacker, and 3rd string QB for a first, second, and 4th round draft pick, as well as a LB who was on a very successful defense?

    I thought it was a 3rd rounder for A.J.

If this trade was true, I'd be quite upset that we didn't make it.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

    Supposed onterrio trade squashed

You guys seriously overrate onterrio at this point. He has had two good games, againt KC we had already destroyed them on O and he was just finishing the game out against arguably the worst defense in the league at that point in the season. Against Chicago he didn't average very good YPC, although he got the ball alot that game.

I always here the argument that Bennett is Small and hus morelikely to get hurt. Bennett is just as small as Onterrio, they are both short, but relatively well built, so I don't see your point.

It would be dumb to trade him IMO.
If the Vikes feel they need a little more on defense they have 7 million in cap room to buy it.
I have to disagree with you on this one.
My guess is he'll carry a fake schlong though an airport security system and then be sent to the CFL only to get cut from the team.

LOL Don't make me start digging out some of your predictions Prophet.
In 2004 Onterio was a possible pro bowl player.
So sad that he screwed it all up. :P

Onterrio Smith is a weed head.
What makes people think this guy is a pro bowler?
Sure he has the skills to be one, but the man has shown time and time again he is unable to stay clean and continues to ruin his image.
if we can trade him great but if not they need to waive him off the roster.
The best plan of action is to trade him to the Bengals
That way he can kick it with his homeboys, in and out of jail!
