    Studwell...GM???

What do you think the chances are of Studwell filling the role the Wilfs had wanted Heckert for?

They have Brezinski to handle the contract/money aspects, but they need a person to handle the football personel side of the business. Scott is highly regarded for his ability to evaluate talent, and in the role that the Wilfs outlined, he should still be able to oversee the scouting department as well.

With the way the Wilfs are going after coaching candidates, you have to wonder if they aren't already thinking along those lines maybe. Afterall, they did say they wanted to get a GM in place and have him assist in the hiring of the new coach!
I used to be indecisive, now I m not so sure!

Not ... need fresh blood and new talent in that group. Not to mention this would be the easy way out for the Wilf's as their Heckert plan blew up in their face.

Studs could be great...or he could be the next Matt Millen. I would leave him in his current position and look for the top candidates...preferably ones with prior experience (Donohoe need not apply) before considering him for the GM position. He has proven that he can do his current job well, but an experienced person would add that much more to the current staff.

I would really like to see Studs getting a GM spot. He was one of my favorite players while I was younger.

However, it would be really sad if he tanked and his Viking legacy would be tarnished with being a terrible GM...like Millen. Then the throngs of people would just be dogging a guys worth as a Viking when a lot have never seen the guy play.

Saw all his games .... would dog him like no other if he pulled a "Millen" ... That's why we need new, fresh talent .... gonna be hard to find and expensive to sign though.
