EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) _ In recent seasons, the Minnesota Vikings have been remarkably better at stopping the run than the pass.

Thanks for the read my friend.

For some of that, credit goes to the secondary. Cornerback Antoine Winfield is having one of the best seasons of his career, and the return of safety Madieu Williams has strengthened the coverage.
Funny how a good pass rush makes our secondary better.

Funny how more man-man coverage & pressing receivers instead of giving up a big cushion makes our secondary better as well.

    LOL,
    are you kidding me.

We all know our CB's have only just started playing closer to the line.
Who the hell was the yutz that was trying to convince you guys they had been pressing for the last 6 games or so?
    ;D

Props to STJ for stepping into the fire and doing OK but truth be told, I think M-will and Griff play well together.

Quick question, anyone notice which side Rodgers was trying to throw to when the safties happened Sunday?

"It's fun when the defense is making plays and the defense is flying around and good things are happening," Greenway said. "Our goal is to go in there and get the ball back for our offense or put points on the board, and we did both of those things well."

This guy is so solid. He's really one of our shining stars.

The pressure on opposing QB's is a huge factor in any defense's success against he pass...it all starts in the trenches. That part of the game will never change.

Good point he was rolling to our "strong" side of the secondary, but something else to think about; which DE was he rolling away from....heres a hint it didnt matter because he got him once anyway
    ;D

It just struck me but having JA force QBs to roll toward AW feels like a really nice thing to make opposing teams have to do if they want to roll out. Now was that the great plan all along or a just dumb luck that it happened that way?

    Two things....

    a.
A QB doesn't always roll away from pressure.
In most instances he will want to step up away from it.
Problem for Rodgers was there wasn't much room to step up.
If he can't step up then of course they will move him out of the pocket but that doesn't always equate to away from it either.

They can be very effective rolling towards the rush so the QB can keep an eye on the guy and help his T set him up to take him wide.
Again, problem for Rodgers was that JA and K-will mixed it up on who went were so Rodgers couldn't guess/gamble.

    b.
I think the combo of Griff and M-will is just as imposing as Sharp and Whinny and will only get better.
Griff lacks some flex in his hips that Whinny has but he is big enough to jam the guy at the line if the staff will allow him which will take away the quick slant that would come from the QB coming to JA's side to see/be aware of the rush.

Problem is, again for Rodgers, that was only open once to that side yesterday as Griff was allowed to jam at the line a bit more than I've seen of late. (Makes Singer happy).

Again, it all starts up front.
A good pass rush even makes a mediocre secondary look good my friend.
