Take your backyard, make a fire pit, plant some trees, maybe even a fake castle and volunteer to have the camp at your house. You can set up activities out there and have them fend for themselves like real boy scouts all while you and the fellow fathers sit inside and enjoy warmth, brewskies, and the vikes. Problem solved. You can download mp3s with outdoor sounds and amplify that into your artificial wilderness.

The only way you are going to make this game more appealing to the public than it was before is if there are on field orgies at halftime and the domes become massive opium dens."

    Sorry Mars.

I got friends recording the game, calling with updates, a smuggled radio, and another dad with an iphone that will get updates, if not the game.

All should be well at Camp Nanuq.

    Can't wait until Sunday!

Ok ok... I hate to be the one with the real talk.. But let's real talk this out...

I'm an Eagle Scout, and darn proud of it. My dad was really busy with work and wasn't really involved with me during Cub Scouts. I promise you that your kid will be ok if you don't go. It's one weekend.

Also, most of my camp outs ended Sunday morning anyways. Hopefully the camp out (in the tragic event you do have to go) will be done Sunday morning.

If it was me, I'd tell my boy that we're watching the Vikes game. It's one camp out... He'll be fine... You should definitely watch the game.
i m better than you, so just give up...

    That's a good perspective Potus.
I'm going to camp with him. Not only because as a Tiger Cub (7 years old for those unfamiliar to scouting), he needs the supervision, but also because I want to. It will be a good time, and a good Father/Son experience. There will be more Vikings games. I just want my cake and I want to eat it too.

DVR it, and up front, threaten to kill anyone who tells you anything at all about it. Hang a sign on you neck explaining what you will specifically do to them.

    :P
I've been a Viking fan since I was just out of diapers, hopefully we get Super Bowl win before I go back in 'em.
