Since I didn't see the game, I'm assuming that Moore and Fason's stats were coming against the second and third string defensive starters. Is that true? If so, then the comparisons really aren't very valid. Beyond which, it's always harder to run at the beginning of the game than it is as the game progresses (fatigue and whatnot). I'm not saying that Bennett should be guaranteed the starting job but I do think it's a little early to be deciding.

i'm pretty sure that moore played against the starters

If Bennett doesn't get it done during the first couple regular season games than I am all for starting Mewelde. But for right now I think we should stick with MB.

Isn't it great to have all this talent to grouse over? Let's give Bennet some time, as you cannot judge him till he gets carries in the fourth qtr, after wearing down the defense in the first three. It's good to have that change of pace back, who should be the one coming off the bench?.... We'll find out soon enough, and whoever starts will have my complete confidence. skol.

    Re: Start Mewelde Moore.

I think Bennett is a better recieving back then Moore.. And a better, Much better blocker.. Also people complain about Bennett getting hurt and not coming back on time, what happened with Moore last year? He had a minor injury and was out for weeks more then he should have been..

If people want to pick a starter after the first preseason game thats fine.. But consider some of the stuff from the game.. If you look at the stats it should be Fason who should be starting.. If Bennett had that hole Mewelde had on his big run he would have been in the endzone.. Bennett played like 5 plays so I really wasn't expecting anything great.. He also played against the 1st team defense.. While Moore and Fason played against the 2nd and 3rd string.. Personally I think Bennett is the better back to have in now because of his experience but Moore is definitley the next Vikings starter. Maybe even during the year he becomes that. But Tice is sold on Bennett for now

My thoughts exactly. You just cant make these shouts to give someone the axe after 4 carries in a preseason game its just not on. From what I heard on the radio for the game, it was only the opening drives that had most of the starters in, Bennett ran the opening drive, 4 carries for 5 yards and 1 reception for 12 yards - against the 1st string D for the chiefs.

Moore comes in - not against the first string - and has 5 carries for 62 yards (one of which was a 50 yard run) so apart from the run he broke he averaged 3 yards per carry, something bennett could have done against the D he was facing.

All I can say is give Bennett some time, 1 preseason game and half of you want to start someone else, im not going to make my mind up until 4 games into the season (unless he gets injured of course  ).

I'm on the "Lots of Potential" bandwagon. Yet, Tice is gonna have to pick one of these pre-season games to put Bennett to the test. I know the argument that the "real test" is in training camp, but I don't buy it. His familiarity in a controlled environment is no match for the unpredictable. I imagine that there is still concern on the coaching staff about his durability, and they are playing him cautiously for now. Coaches are giving him the benefit if Big Talk to help build his mental state back up, the same way Tice was Big Talking Eilling last year in hopes of giving the kid a confidence boost. In the end, the field tells no lies. Bennett only starts in he earns it. This week or next, he's gonna see more downs. He should WANT to see more downs. I think he needs to prove it to himself more than us at this point.

    Skol.

    We don't argue...........no never.

I will say Moore made a STRONG case for himself.
RB's have 5 weeks to make their case for starting.
And Moore is in the lead right now in my "humble" opinion.

And Sir Ultra is out of the circle of trust everybody.
Him and his secret society stuff.
