Re: The Start Kelly Holcomb Thread.

maybe we'll pull a browns and trade him after 1 bad game.
ha, you guys are being stubborn viking fans like myself =]
were gonna have to grit our teeth and deal with it.

this game made me seriously wanna puke my guts out
they pratically gave the game to us so many times its sickening
how many teams have a chance to win a game like this
when we played as bad as we played.

    we deserved to lose

Re: The Start Kelly Holcomb Thread.

It's brutal even watching him throw a ball for more than 5 yards. The opponents have caught on -- they will stack the box which will severely limit Peterson the rest of the year. Our QB can't pass and he can't read defenses. He can run, though.

Well, he COULD before the defenses started putting 9 guys up in the box, anyways.
Any more action TJack sees should be on a practice field in Eden Prairie and that's about it.
He isn't an NFL QB........yet. He needs a lot more work and right now he looks more like a practice squad player than an NFL player.

Don't worry.........it will get a LOT worse the longer he stays in there and any confidence he might have will soon be gone.

how can bollinger do any worse than tj did today????
    I don't remember T-Jack fumbling snaps...
No, he just threw 4 int's.

bollinger did complete 75% and march most the way downfield. they both made mistakes being the main point. i think bb can avoid int's and keep the offense on the field.

Change the title of this thread to "Fire Childress" and I'm all for it.

    Start Holcomb?
What happened to all the Love Jackson was getting last season and during preseason?
Where are all the excuses for jackson that allow some of us to delude ourselves into believing that we're on the path to greatness and that Childress has a figgin' clue?

I don't care if they start Artis Hicks at QB, with the stupid play calling, crappy protection, and impotent receivers, we'll be LUCKY to win 4 games.

This better get better in a hurry...because it can't get much worse.

It doesn't help that all of our receivers would be #4 guys on other teams.
The passing game's shortcomings aren't all TJack.

Re: The Start Kelly Holcomb Thread.

If TJ is healthy, then I like him to start.
I think he's going to be okay.
Today was terrible, against a less than fearsome defense, but lets not jump ship at the first sign of rain.

I really feel like, as bad as TJ was, the coaches should have run the ball more and not put so much pressure on this kid to carry the team.
When you ask him to throw 11 times on third down, well, that's a lot for a young guy.

Neither Bollinger or Holcomb are the answer here, at least not longterm.
    TJ might be.
Let him play it out, and lets see how he responds.

And don't think we'll be playing for the top pick in the draft.
    Our defense is really good.
They kept us in that game.
Our running game should be fine.
We will beat a lot of teams this year.

I knew right when we traded CJ Mosley for him it was a bad deal. Even trading herpes to Jets for Bollinger is a bad deal.
    Hillarious, but true.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

JDogg......I agree that certainly doesn't help, but anyone with half a brain knew going into this season this would be a significant problem.

Unfortunately, the Vikings brass did nothing to help either of these glaring needs during the off-season, other than to draft Sidney Rice and then add Holcomb, neither which gets anyone excited.

TJack isn't ready for this and it's unfair to dump this on him right now. He will be worthless because he will have his confidence completely shot if he stays in there.

It was a tough divisional road game.
You hate to lose those, but it happens.
How they respond next week will tell who this team really is.
And we do get Detroit again later this year in our house.
That should be a very different game.

yeah, and eli's confidence was shot, and alex smiths, and peytons, and cutlers,

HES A KID!!, this was his first actual horrible horrible game.
hes gonna make mistakes, and you should have known this
coming into this season, you think a kid plays 3 regular season
games and all of a sudden hes dan marino?

NO!, hes gonna struggle, and this is good to get it out of the way early
in order to get him ready for seasons that we actually have a shot
    at doing something.
