There's no doubt that when the new Vikings stadium is built it will be gorgeous, state-of-the-art and immensely profitable. There's also no doubt that 25 years from now it will be considered obsolete, a rat trap and unworthy of a professional sports franchise....

Just imagine if it were even 80% of what the new Cowboys stadium will be.
    That stadium is unbelievable.
It's going to be hard to open up a new stadium a year or two after theirs.
It will pale in comparison no matter what.

I'll give you a very simple reason why the "Stadium Fund" will not work. It's because the stupid Minnesota politicians could never stand to have millions of dollars laying around in a special fund. They would have to "borrow on it" for something else and it would never get repaid. They are just like a bunch of kids who have never learned to manage money.

And theirs is only going to cost about 650 million. I say we hire the firm that is doing theirs.

They've actually had the money for a 'Stadium Fund' from the moment that the Dome was finished being paid for - which was years earlier than originally planned. Instead the MSFC have made token gestures to update aspects of the Dome which have cost nowhere near the extra money gained by the early pay-off of the Dome. I'm waiting to see how much of the revenue pie they'll want this time round.
