Wilf's remarks on downtown stadium site roil 'partners'

With a sales tax to fund a Vikings stadium on Tuesday's ballot in Anoka County, an official recoiled at the team owner's comments about a possible downtown site.

Looks like we are getting closer to paying well over a billion to bring an expansion team to MN.
Thats what we do here in MN, kick the established teams out and get a crappy expansion team, we like to pay 10 times as much for a new stadium years after our established teams are forced out by our idiot leaders.

If Anoka County would get off their butts and do something Wilf wouldn't have to go look for new sites.

Minnesota legislators need to get their heads out of their a$$es and get rolling on a stadium deal...in Anoka County.
Downtown is not the place for football...the land is too expensive for 10 games a year (plus maybe a playoff game or two, depending on the circumstances).
It makes way more sense to put the stadium out a ways and develop around it.
Sell the land that the Metrodome is on to developers to help finance the new stadium in Blaine...they should be able to get some decent money for that property!
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

I don't believe the Vikings own the stadium. At least not all of it. Don't they lease it as well?

The Tribune also owns part of either the stadium or the land that it is on.

Wilf is also fixated on an outdoor, roofless stadium to allow his team to take advantage of cold and wet playing conditions late in the season — like the Vikings did from 1961-81 when they played at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington.
I like Zigi more & more each day.
I hope this state proves they deserve such an owner.
