    Sportsline Grade: B-

According to CBS Sportsline (Prisco), both the Vikings and Packer got a B- for their drafts.

    Green Bay Packers

Best pick: Their first pick was their best one. Corner Ahmad Carroll might be an immediate starter if Mike McKenzie gets traded.

Questionable move: Third-round pick Donnell Washington has a big body, which the Packers need on the defensive line, but a lot of teams think he's a major underachiever.

Steal: Third-round pick Joey Thomas, a corner from Montana State, is a guy many teams thought would go in the second round.

Overall grade: B-. Getting two corners in the first three rounds fills a pressing need.

LosAngelis: Funny they don't mention the bonehead trade-up to get a punter. Leaving DE undrafted was careless unless there is a master plan to bring in AO or Brackens. My grade: C

    Minnesota Vikings

Best pick: Third-round pick Darrion Scott, a defensive end from Ohio State, was a productive player in the Big 10 for a good defense.

Questionable move: Taking Kenechi Udeze in the first round is a worry because of his shoulder concerns. If healthy, it's a heck of a pick.

Steal: Rod Davis, a fifth-round pick from Southern Miss, has the speed the Vikings want from their linebackers.

Overall grade: B-. If Udeze works out, then this grade could go higher. If not, it's way lower.

Me: Prisco think Udeze may be hurt more than we all think. Y'all got a lot of good defensive help, though, and two DE's are something I wish we had right now. Trade you both of them for our punter!!! My grade: B
Have you ever seen a race of turtles, and they all go the wrong way instead of towards the finish line?

    Welcome to the NFC North.

lol, Do theyr eally think the shoulder is going to be a problem?

Good Lord, he played with it in the Rose Bowl and 3 sacks! Only a couple of teams thought it was a problem and most of them didn't. Oh well, if a minor injury can get him to drop to us... I'm happy as hell.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

They are making too much out of his shoulder. It is a minor injury, that can be played through. He played through it in his bowl game, and said in an interview, that he wants to play through it this next season. After next season, then he will decide if he wants to have the minor surgery required to fix it. Tice said EJ played last season with a similar shoulder injury.

As far as steals in our draft, darrion scott was a good pick, he had a 2nd round grade. Rod davis was another good value pick in round 5. He slipped down 2 or 3 rounds, because he is said to not have a lot of speed. He ran a 4.6 in his workout, and that is fine for a MLB, way faster than Biekert. This guy was flat out a tackling machine in college and will give us some good depth in the LB area. One guy that wasn't mentioned was Nat Dorsey. He carried a 2nd round grade and would have been a 1st round pick if he stayed in school for his senior year. I expect him to eventually be our starting RT. Maybe not at all this year, but he can take over for Rosenthol next year. Mewelde moore will help us out a lot on special teams. He can return punts and kickoffs. He didn't in college, because he already was accounting for 75% of his teams offense. He looks like he could fill a role, similar to david palmer in 1998. He could be a 3rd down specialist, because he can catch the ball extremely well. I think we did a great job of getting players in spots we needed, as well as picking the BPA. We didn't reach in any round.

hey maybe if he plays a good game with his injured shoulder on a sunday night football game they will mention his enjury a couple thousand times like Favre, I think ther just overdoing the hurt shoulder, hopefully he will turn out to be a star player.
LosAngelis, sorry about the punter, that really sucks.

Maybe we have blinders on because we love the Viks, but I think its pretty safe to say that we all think we had a great draft. Why do it seem like the media is always ripping on us :?: I rarely hear anything good about the Viks on TV, hopefully thins year we will earn the respect that we deserve.

Actually, every post draft show I have seen on espn, the nfl network, and a bunch of websites, has had us as one of the best drafts in the NFL. You need to have a good grasp of all the players in the draft, to know how good we did. Some people, who only know the big name guys, and don't know who any of the guys are in rounds 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, don't believe we did that good. They see us pick an unknown by name LB, in the 2nd, over boulware, and think that it was a reach and a bad pick. They see us pick another RB, and they don't know who he actually is and how good he is, so they think he was a bad pick. If you don't know who these guys are, that we picked, and who the guys are that are still on the board, than you aren't gonna be able to fairly judge our draft.

I agree that we had a great draft, the best in the NFL. We got the best pass rusher in the draft, at 20, gaining a 4th round pick. We also got a starting Will LB, that was a way better pick than Boulware(who is being moved to safety in seattle, because he is small). We added some depth at DE in the 3rd, picking scott, who had a 2nd round grade. In the 4th we got the 2 highest ranked players that were available after the 3rd was over, according to our board and mel kiper jr. Dorsey is gonna be a starter for us soon, and Mewelde moore will be a return guy and a 3rd down receiving back for us. The rest of our picks gave us depth at needed positions. Anytime you have 5 rookies that are expected to get significant playing time, then you had a hell of a draft.

According to Mel Kiper Jr, we had the best draft in the NFL, for the 2nd straight year and I totally agree.

A lot of people are saying the Lions did the best, because they drafted 2 well known guys, who play offense. If they drafted 2 good D players, who weren't big name guys, then there would be way less talk about them. They had a good draft, yes, but not the best. Look at all their other picks when judging, not the first 2 or 3. They reached for Lehman, the next rocky calmus, early in the 2nd. Their other picks in the later rounds weren't very good. They deserve praise for getting a great WR and a good RB, but they are getting too much because of the guys names and the positions they played.

Prisco is a Packer nut sucker. :la: To give them anything higher than a C is proof of fudgepackitis. The only reason Udeze's shoulder has become such an issue now is because the Vikes selected him.

    :evil3: CHECK THIS OUT:

Mock draft: Throw out the other ones, this one counts
    April 22, 2004

    Tell Pete your opinion!

... discount the first three mock drafts that I've done, including one done earlier this week, and take this one as the one to grade. It's the mock based on late information, including using the supposed trade between the Giants and Chargers, giving San Diego the top spot.

We'll also have San Diego drop down to the seventh spot after that in a trade with Cleveland, who wants Iowa tackle Robert Gallery.

So this is the official Pete Prisco Mock Draft for all those graders out there who do such a thing.

Of course when it blows up in my face by dusk Saturday, I'll start claiming my first, second and third drafts were the right ones.

"Yep, I had that one right."

    1. New York Giants (From San Diego) -- Eli Manning, QB, Mississippi. They get their man in Eli Manning by trading a second-round pick this year and maybe one next year. Daddy Dearest Archie gets his wish.

    2. Oakland Raiders -- Roy Williams, WR, Texas. They consider Robert Gallery or even trading back, but in the end they take Williams for his deep speed.

    3. Arizona Cardinals -- Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Pittsburgh. Take this one to the bank. He will be playing for his dad, Dennis Green. OK, kidding about the dad stuff. Uncle Denny?

    4. Cleveland Browns (From New York through San Diego) -- Robert Gallery, T, Iowa. The Browns make a move up to get the best offensive lineman -- by far -- in this draft.

    5. Washington Redskins -- Kellen Winslow Jr., TE, Miami. There is a chance they can trade back with New England, but we keep Winslow in this spot. He's the best player in this draft.

    6. Detroit Lions -- Sean Taylor, S, Miami. He is big, rangy and can run. Think Kenny Easley. He's that good.

    7. San Diego (From Cleveland) -- Philip Rivers, QB, North Carolina State. They get the guy they wanted all along and add draft picks. Maybe this franchise does know what it's doing.

    8. Atlanta Falcons --DeAngelo Hall, CB, Virginia Tech. They need a quality corner to go with Jason Webster, and Hall is that guy. He is also an electrifying return man.

    9. Jacksonville Jaguars -- Kenechi Udeze, DE, USC. They get stuck at No. 9 in a draft where they really like eight players. So they take the defensive end. A move down is possible.

    What an absolute tool!!!!
