Split back sets
In the offseason Childress was quoted saying that they were going to be experimenting with ways to use both Taylor and Peterson in the backfield at the same time to create mismatches for the defense.
I haven't seen any sign of so far. Has anybody seen or heard anything recently?
it would be interesting to see.

Re: Split back sets
Man your looking like you just off the packers message board...
Onto the subjet I think Childress answered this in a call in an interview with PA. He also mentioned they would possibly switch Jared Allen and Ray Edwards at times. He said its all a possibilty and something we could see down the road.

Wing-T!
;D
Actually, I started a thread once regarding using the Wing-T or Wishbone Offenses. Unfortunately I can't seem to figure out where it went, which is a shame because V had some really interesting things to say on the subject.

He's only a part time QB, since he rushed 9 times for 65 yards, 7.2 YPC against GB"UffDaVikes" wrote:

Re: Split back sets
My understanding is that the T-formation is more of a passing formation.

Re: Split back sets
It would be nice to have them both on the field at the same time, but that formation is more of a passing down. If it is a running play, do you really want Taylor blocking for AP on a screen or option for example? not really.
We're bringing purple back.

It wouldn't have to be a pass play and one wouldn't have to block for the other. They could fake a handoff to one up the middle and toss it to the other in the other direction after the defense had committed. There are certainly enough non wishbone plays that could work if we wanted. It would be nice to have them both on the field at the same time, but that formation is more of a passing down. Actually in the late 80's and early 90's we used a split back formation quite a bit.

True. There is quiet a lot of plays you can run from a formation with two RBs in the game. Maybe make 10 plays from the formation just to add another element to the offense."gregair13" wrote:
