Sid Hartman, of the Star Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman said that he likes the running backs in camp but that he is going to be checking the waiver wire to see where the Vikings can improve at all positions. "I think all three, four, five of the running backs we have here have been very good," he said. "Each of them does things differently and uniquely."
Re: Spielman scanning waiver wire
That is always nice to hear.. What ever it is that can make your team better, then do it.. Nice to see we have people in the orginization that care about the team, instead of their own personal goals..
Re: Spielman scanning waiver wire

I kinda hope that they give Collins a serious look soon.. I for one would feel much more at ease with Collins backing up BJ then McMahon.. I would like to see Johnson, Collins, and Jackson.. Let McMahon, and Sullivan go..
Re: Spielman scanning waiver wire
I will officially say that I hope 'Deer in the Headlights' Collins never steps foot in Minnesota as a Viking.
Re: Spielman scanning waiver wire
I like the idea of bringing Collins in.
Obviously we are all hoping we DON'T have to use him.
But I would rather see him back there then Mike McMahon
Re: Spielman scanning waiver wire
I officially second Prophet, but I officially state that I'm not really excited about the alternatives either.
Re: Spielman scanning waiver wire
I can't honestly say I like McMahon better than Collins, even though I think Collins is a Catholic schoolgirl in disguise... 8)
Re: Spielman scanning waiver wire
How can they possibly bring in Collins.
He is not a WC quarterback.
He would never have time to learn the new offense at this point.
I don't see them bringing in another QB unless a proven WC QB is released by someone near the end of preseason.

One of the coaches said that a week or so ago, too. Collins will not be with Minnesota.
