Well when you're pacing yourself to only have 1 catch every other game & have a 1.1 yard avg per game, I guess you could have a lot of football left in you.
I'd hate to think he's all tapped out.
So far that's over $1 million/catch. The only ones on the roster making more than him this year are JA, AD, Winfield & Greenway.
Carlson's 2012 cap hit (salary/bonus): $4.15 mil
Harvin's 2012 cap hit (salary/bonus): $1.35 mil

There's a lot more we could be doing with those funds than paying Carlson that kind of money for no production.Last edited by singersp; 11-19-2012 at 06:10 AM.

I concur...
He signed an injury prone TE that LOST his job when healthy to Zach Miller.
Why then would we go out and make him one of the highest paid TEs in the league?
Is he Gronk? Is he Davis? Is he Graham? Nope he is Carlson...the 3RD best TE on the team.
Sure wish we had saved that 5 million a year to pair with 3 more million and throw it at Bowe or Jackson or someone that can catch the Deep ball

Out of curiosity, does anybody know where to find Carlson's cap hit on the team next season? If his contract was front-loaded,t hen fine. Hopefully we haven't tied up too much guaranteed money in him next season. Bowe would be awesome, Love to see a guy like Dashon Goldson opposite H Smith. That would be a painfully deadly secondary.
