I came in to the website looking to solicate opinions on weather yall liked the old school days with Bud Grant, Tarkington, Metropolitin stadium down in Bloomington, etc.

I made my views and opinions very clear about the old school days, while accidentaly coming off like a Gr. Bay fan cuz I like the fact that they "appear" to be old school----they play outside like the vikes once did.

All I have gotten back from some of you is TROLL TROLL TROLL

If thats all ya got then ok--sorry. I recon I am in the minority.

I just cherished the old days and wish they would come back. The Vikes kicked a s s back then

It's OK Metro. The days of the boys playing on grass at the old stadium are in the past now. Don't dwell in the past.

Times, they have changed up north & domed or retractable stadiums are in. When we get our new one, I'd like to see a retractable so we can have the best of both worlds. I'd still like it to have real grass.

I'd like to see you start posting on stuff about the Vikings we are supporting today! There is a lot of threads out there, so start posting.

Certainly there's gotta be alot of things you like about our team today.

Post your opinions, but try not to bring up Favre & the Packers so much in them, that's where we get our doubts from.

I appreciate yall seeing my old school thinking. Thanks alot guys. And yeah the Vikes of today can still win out.

I will alaways hate the new dome/new player fassions and all, but I will always [ ok, mostly ] be true to the team.

Most of us (A lot of us anyway) weren't around for the old days, so we can't really speak to what they were like. One thing you can count on however is that we all APPRECIATE those old days. I for one wasn't around for Tarkenton and Page and Indian Joe and all of those guys, but I certainly recognize what those guys did for the organization back in the '60s and '70s.

Now we know you're not a troll, and it's always good to have another Vike on the site no matter which era they prefer! :grin:

I guess my biggest beef is with the younger fellas of this message board who are now the self proclaimed "official Viking fans" who dont know d i c k about the old days. These kids {no disrespect to our younger fans] just cant appreciate the old days.

I re-call the old days...no shame there. My grandfather took to me to a game in the Met, maybe that's when I became a Vikes fan. I loved the teams of yesteryear as I do today's and tomorrows team...
