I voted for Bryant McKinnie. Don't ask me why -- I don't really know. But I just like him. And besides, Alan Page wasn't on the list!

He might have been on the Bears list. That's where he played his final seasons.

I never forgave him for that. Do you think it's about time now seeing he's a judge?

Re: Something to do - vote for the most “indispensable” Vikings player

    Here are my picks:
    Arizona-Matt Leinart
Edge certainly didn't do much last year, and they got Fitzgerald behind Boldin.
Leinart's the present and future for them.

    Atlanta-Michael Vick
Joey Harrington is the possible #2. Enough said.

    Carolina-Julius Peppers
One of the best in the league.
Smith's close, but I hesitate to give receivers the title.

    Chicago-Brian Urlacher
Heart of the defense, one of the best in the league, he does it all, no question.

    Dallas-DeMarcus Ware
Romo's alright, but he hasn't proved enough to me yet.
Roy William's isn't good enough in coverage.
TO's a receiver and drops to many (and Glenn's not bad).
    That leaves Ware.

    Detroit-Shaun Rogers
They got almost no one on this defense besides him, Redding, and Sims.
    Kitna's alright.
Recievers I won't give it to here, seeing how they have Williams, Furrey, and Calvin Johnson.

    Green Bay-AJ Hawk
    How is Favre indispensable?
Rogers (1st round pick, favre's replacement) has been waiting a few years for his chance.
Favre's average now, and he forces to much.
He's indispensable off the field, as the face of the franchise, but not on the field.

    Minnesota-Antoine Winfield
Hutch and McKinnie are good, but if we lost Winfield, who would we have at corner? Griffin's good, and getting better, but is he #1 material yet?.
And is there anyone even remotely qualified (as of yet) to be a starter after that?

    New Orleans-Drew Brees
Is there any question here? I don't think you can choose Bush or McAllister, because if you lose one you got the other.

    New York-Eli Manning
I hate Eli, but who else they got?

    Philadelphia-Brian Westbrook
McNabb's out because they got to the playoffs with Garcia.
I thought about Dawkins and Kearse, but then saw Westbrook.
He is there main offensive threat besides McNabb (they don't have much at receiver).
He catches, he runs, he's the man.

    San Francisco-Fred Gore
Alex Smith hasn't done enough yet to be it (besides, they have someone, can't remember his name, but he was a former starter).
Gore was one of the top rushers in the league (4th in yards? or 3rd?).
I remember him absolutely tearing apart the Lions last year.

    Seattle-Walter Jones
They already lost Hutch and have yet to find a suitable replacement.
Just imagine if they lost Jones, too.
Alexander would find far fewer and much smaller holes to run through.
I'm not a fan of Hasselbeck's, and they made the playoff's despite missing him (and Alexander) for a few weeks.

    St. Louis-Steven Jackson
    Again, no question for me.
I hesitate to give any receiver the title of "Indispensable," and they got some guys in the wings.
Steven Jackson, however, is the man.
One of the top rushers in the league, a huge threat both rushing and receiving, amazing moves and one-on-one.

    Tampa Bay-Derrick Brooks
Future Hall of Famer, one of the faces of the franchise, and none of the other's really work (Cadillac blew last season, and I just think Brooks is higher than Barber).

    Washington-Sean Taylor
    I don't know.
Portis is sharing the load this year, so whatever.
Taylor's good, toss up between him and Santana.
    WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!

    In AP I trust

So, after you vote, you get the results - this one (besides Detroit's #2 being a player who's never played a down of football - God, people are stupid) is this:

    8. Who is Jacksonville's most indispensable player?
    28.2% Byron Leftwich
    26.7% Marcus Stroud
    16.4% Rashean Mathis
    16.1% John Henderson
    12.6% Mike Peterson

Are you kidding me?  The Jags have spent significant chunks of the past several seasons w/out Leftwich at the helm and done just fine.  And where are Jones-Drew or Fred Taylor?

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Is there a difference between best and most indispensable?
