    Some guidelines for T-Jack

Yeah another T-Jack thread but it is an interesting read. Let the repetitive argument begin ;D

    http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1498

A few days after the 2007 season ended, QB Tarvaris Jackson and coach Brad Childress met to talk about the offseason. Childress gave Jackson several key points to focus on as the odds-on favorite to retain the starting job.

He needs to take care of the football.
It's so simple I don't know why he hasn't mastered it yet. ;D

But seriously, it really is about making it simple...and then building on each success.

Yeah, those all seem like obvious points of emphasis.
Hopefully T-Jack gets it down this year.
If everything clicks we should be in the playoffs.

Give him a minute. We kind of just threw him in there. It was his first real year. I promise you we will see a huge difference this year.

Yes, I hear ya...that was my point too, but I didn't make it very clear.

    Some guidelines for Tarvaris:

    a. 'Be like Eli': you are just one player among 11. No need to win it all on your own...
    b. No more throwing off your back foot. Period ! You are not Favre !
    :P
    c. Learn to throw the slant pass
    d. Learn to read defenses better
    e. Stop panicking
    f. Relax

When our running game was shut down against the Bears and Washington late in the season he forced a lot of bad passes into coverage because he was pressing and likely felt the need to generate something that wasn't there.

basically his biggest problem is trying to do too much, and that is every young qbs flaw while starting in the NFL. All he has to do A. Learn to take sacks, and B. When no one is open, take off with your feet. By playing more he will get used to doing these things(lets hope).
