At this rate though, it can be anyone in the draft. We keep playing like this and we will have the first pick!
Agreed. We will have to get a QB. But in this day and time I don't see how you can survive 3 losing seasons in a row. Especially when your team's record gets worse every year.
We haven't had 3 losing seasons in a row, and our record has not gotten worse each season...

2005 - 9-7
2006 - 6-10 (First year for Childress, and a losing season was expected)
2007 - 8-8 (Not a losing season, and an improvement from the previous year)
2008 - 1-3 (so far, yes losing so far, but were also only one game back from 1st in the division going into week 5)

No it hasn't.

Going from 6-10 to 8-8 is not getting worse.

Re: So Who Is Our Quarterback Next Year?

But anyways, back on subject... QB for next year? who knows really.
I'm hoping a 1st or second round draft pick late in the season, but who knows whats going to be out there in free agency or for trade at this point going into next year.

Marc Bulger just got an extension, he's not going anywhere.
Derek Anderson, might be available for a trade, but after seeing him thus far in this season I don't want him on our team.

I suspect a high draft pick being used on a QB and T Jack starting next year and being replaced by the rookie at some point during the season.
Also with a new Head Coach.

That of course all depends on how the Vikings finish this year, if they happen to make it into the playoffs, which they still easily have a chance again being only one game back from 1st place in the division.

Re: So Who Is Our Quarterback Next Year?

Possible starting QB candidates for next year:

Daunte Culpepper.
We all love him, don't we?

Superman - He's faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive.
Throwing a football around should be a snap for him.

Fran Tarkenton.
Let's bring him back.
He's only, what...70 years old?
He can take a hit.
Though I imagine he doesn't scramble very well anymore.

The King from Zelda CD-i.
MAH BOI...stability at quarterback is what every good warrior strives for!

Johnny Unitas.
Hey, he switched to the Chargers during his last year, so why couldn't he...what do you mean, he's dead?
Crap.
Back to the drawing board.

Solid Snake.
Because he's just so incredibly sexy.
Besides, time always seems to stop whenever he takes a Codec call, which would give us an infinite amount of time in the huddle.
And he won't die of old age for another six years, so we'll have plenty of time!

Shaquille O'Neal.
He's really tall, so he wouldn't have any problem seeing over the line.
And I imagine it'd be pretty hard to tackle his fat jiggly butt.

Jesus - Unfortunately, this is but a pipedream, since, as everyone knows, Ray Lewis is already Jesus's chief representative in the NFL.

Spergon Wynn.
Hey, if we're going to have a crappy, unproven starter, why not go for the granddaddy of them all?

Another candidate I forgot to mention - Keanu Reeves.
He did a great job leading his team to victory in The Replacements.

We'll probably sign a mediocre free agent and turn to one of our backups in the middle of the season.

How about we take some stem cells from Tom Brady and make them the starting quarterback?
Sure, it won't be a starter right away, but with the help of some mad scientists, it has the potential to develop into one...literally.
