so what do they do for 4 games
(my apologies if a similar thread is already going around...I couldnt find it)
Ok.....so what do they do for 4 games?
Lets assume that the courts offer no relief.
The Vikes have no other choice but to move on.
Do they stick with the inexperienced (and somewhat banged up) players they currently have and just do the best they can?
Do they go out and try to find some stop-gap help....ie, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila?
Do they just throw a temper tantrum, pick up their ball, and go home?
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

Very intersting idea.
Best idea I have seen so far is for them to go with a 3-4.
Regardless of what they do scheme wise, they need at least 2 more bodies.
I contend they will pull up Barnett and Douz from the practice squad or get a guy (like they did last year with Otis) that none of have ever heard of off the street or from someone's practice squad.
Check out the Robins Hurt thread orthe Suspension thread. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Theres a number of possible free agents on the market. Sam Adams would be an experienced Veteran Free Agent that could be a viable run support option.
KGB is a DE isn't he?

KGB might be an interesting pick up.
I think we will need to pull someone in from somewhere - if nothing else than for depth and rotation.
But for the most part I expect us to put our gus in and tell them to give em hell.
Whether the storm for four games, and the playoffs will be a whole new picture...Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

KGB is a DE, but NYG runs 3 DE lines all the time.
It is doable.
If we had more linebackers, we could run a 3-4... but that isn't really an option either thanks to injury.Zeus wrote:

Talk about sticking it to the Packers. KGB.. on turf if that knee is healthy would definitely help your cause.. oh the pain that would cause the Packers front office.. yikes. There are a couple out there discussing this but none have mentioned KGB.

That drama might be interesting.

interms of 3 DE lines, we also run it on passing situations, but its not viable for run stopping.
3-4 would require a whole new scheme, and players. DE's have to be more like DT's in the 3-4 with a big and very strong Nose Tackle. Linebackers flow differently, and have different responsibilities in a 3-4 defense as well. The adjustment isn't as simple as just taking out a DT and replacing him with a LB. Allen would get owned in that system, as he'd be seeing double teams from the guard and tackle, rather than a tackle and TE. Our line was the heart of our defense, in a 3-4 the line are just bodies that don't do much than take an ass kicking from double teams and create lanes for the LB's to run through.
