Where exactly did I lose you? Am I wrong in assuming that Red owned the team in 1999?
No ... he owned the team, but all your comments are obnoxious and only for the sake of being obnoxious.
By the way, we did not have a real QB in 99 (and what run are you talking aboout? All the way to the Divionsal playoffs? That is a run). We had Cunningham at the beginning for a few games and then it became Jeff George's team. He played well, but not exceptional ... though some of the best of his career.
By the way ... we do have an NFC title appearance with Culpepper in 2000 ... which is one step further than we went in 1999.

That doesn't explain the good run in 1999. But Culpepper wasn't starting then. Maybe it's his fault.

I think you might mean 98. 15-1 season.

And the reason we were that good then is because we had the best wide reciever trio of all time, a 1600 yard running back, a coach who knew how to use his offensive weapons, and a kicker who never missed (I wont mention the one time he did)

That was the best offense of all time 556 points in a season.

I think that explaines the run in 1998, 1999 we fell off a little, we were 10-6 (which I would die to be this year)

The '98 season (which is the one that I think you're referring to) was McCombs' first year as owner anyway so if you really want to put that season on anyone put it one the previous ownership. Red has been cheap since the day he got here, and then when we went 15-1 and didn't win the Super Bowl, instead of spending more $$ to try and get us over the top, he got even cheaper because he was pissed.

    Dungy?

Do you think he won one in Tampa or what?

Because the last time I checked Gruden was the Head Coach of the Bucs when they won.

I am tired of hearing people defend Tice, whether he is a good guy or not, I could really give 2 s##ts, he is not getting the players attentiion or hasn't their respect, whatever the reasons, I don't care!!!

Tired of this stuff, it nausiating!!

    No Cheers!!

Tice has not earned the respect of anyone.

    I feel sorry for him.

You only feel sorry for losers.

How is that for not sticking up for him?

Now the guys on TV are sticking up for the Coaches, not necessarily Tice but they are saying the players are not focused on the field. Well, that leads back to Tice IMO. He has lost their atention and their respect, maybe he never had it in the first place. He has no Juice.

Wilf and the GM need to step up and say that everyone will be under the microscope at the end of the season. The high paid guys probably won't care cause they are top dollar and we can't just let them go. But all the others better pay attention.

Who sees that Red was a terrible owner.

Three instances by the media today:

    1. Supposedly Tagliabue told Wilf that he inherited an unorganized team and all around badly run team when he bought the Vikes.

    2. The announcers said how the coaches were hired for cheap, cheap salaries and that most of them couldn't get jobs or had lost their jobs previously in the NFL.

    3. In the pregame show, they said about Wilf hiring a former FBI/NFL guy as the director of security, and then said that Red had cut that position in order to save $$$.

That was the first time I'd ever heard anyone address the Vikings previous ownership in that light (other than us of course). It's hard to blame ALL of our problems on Red, but it's hard not to look at some of them being his doing.
I did hear this last year, #2 that is. It was brought to light in an article about how Tice couldn't get Red to pay for some improvement for the players at the practice facility. Tice bought some PS2 or Games and couches for the players room. He also bought new carpet to snaz the room up cause it was ripped and ragged. Then they went on to say how Tice was underpaid and the whole coaching staff was underpaid and that they were short assistants across the board cause Red didn't want these extra positions cause he didn't see there need.
