Thread: So excited

Re: So excited
I was there too.
If you were in the upper deck there were a lot of steelers fans.
They didn't outnumber us, but they sure made their presence known.
It was still a good time though.
I have had a good time at every Vikings game I have been to, win or lose.
(And for the record, I always stay till then end.
One of my pet peeves is fans leaving halfway through the fourth just to "beat traffic"... but that is a rant for another thread!)Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: So excited
My first game was in the 99 playoffs against Dallas. We beat them pretty good. The first thing i remembered was walking in the dome and getting handed ear plugs by the ticket taker. I had no clue that I might actually need them. It was hellaciously loud in there, an experience i wont forget.

Re: So excited
I have only been to one game at the dome.
My brother is a huge Bills fan so for his birthday (good enough excuse for me) I got us tickets for the Vikings/Bills, rented a car and we drove up on Saturday from Ohio.
We stayed downtown and I have to say, the Twin Cities are really beautiful.
Best part of the whole weekend was walking from the hotel to the dome. We turned a street corner and there was a sea of purple.
I turned to my brother and said It feels like I'm finally home.
The people outside couldn't have been nicer to us both, and he was in full Bills garb.
Try that at a Browns game and you will likely get something tossed at you in the parking lot.
The game basically ended on a long pass to Moss and he scorched the CB (Winfield I think) for a TD.
The place erupted and my brother was just sitting there while I was celebrating with other fans.
One guy behind my brother asked me what was wrong, why wasn't he cheering?
I reached over and turned his Bills cap around.
The guy pats my brother on the back and says "You guys will be good next year, you're rebuilding now".
Our team may have not always shown good character, but I would rate the dome crowd #1 and I have been to many NFL stadiums.
Enjoy your game!"Puntalee-wuntalee, yesiree-bob!"

If ur going to c the vikings lions game then you have a pretty good chance to c the vikes win after all the vikings havent lost to the lions in six games and the lions havent won in the dome since like 97I am pumped right now...my dad just told me that me and him are gonna fly out to Minnesota on the 7th to watch the Vikings play the Lions on the 8th. Being from NY this means alot to me, it's gonna be my first time watching a Vikings game in the dome.
So whats it like watching a game from there? Win or lose im sure its going to be a great experience for me...well they better win

That right there sums it up....I turned to my brother and said It feels like I'm finally home.
As a die-hard Viking fan, living in the heart of Packer-Bear country, I am constantly surrounded by a sea of green/gold or black/orange.
As I approached the Metrodome for my first time (Last season versus the Browns) with Shockzilla, my Brother (A Packer fan - he was dropped on his head a few times), and my Cousin, I could almost feel the electricity of the place.
I was in awe.
It was euphoric just being there.
It was like one of those, "Don't pinch me, I might wake up" moments.
It was so addicting, that I went back for the Vikings-Bears game (With Ned and SingerSP).
Rest assured, I worked hard on my wife all off-season to get her to allow me to buy season tix (I almost had her, too...maybe THIS year) because after being in the dome, you never want to be anywhere else watching.

Re: So excited
You think your pumped now wait till u actually get to Minny and to the dome...I had the pleasure of going to my first game last year, the experience was out of the world...I wish I could go to every game but unfortunately my job and life dictate otherwise...
What we got here is a failure to communicate.

I have only been to 3 Vikings games (1 in Tampa, 1 in DC (this year) and the 1 in Minnesota against Denver when Moss threw the ball over his head to Moe.
You won't watch the game but rather feel it.
No other stadium is like the Dome.
Have a great time. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
