With Smoot able to take the lead receiver, and having Winfield on the 2nd receiver it will really help our D. B-Will has not played well in the preseason so far. I think Brown is going to win the nickle back spot.
antoine usually plays the left side (of the defense) of the field since that is the side teams generally try to run towards. But i would think that if we were going against the andre johnsons of the nfl that smoot would cover him... i guess we will have to wait and see

I heard an interview with Smoot down in Mississippi and he cracked me up big-time. That guy can talk some #$%^! Will be great to have him on the team this year.

The Associated Press reports Minnesota Vikings CB Fred Smoot (knee) practiced with the first-team defense Monday, Aug. 22. "He is behind," coach Mike Tice said. "We have to be smart with him. Certainly, if there is any rubberness in his legs, we've got to get him out of there. That's where you can have the chance of something bad happening. We'll make sure he gets in there and gets a good sweat and some good pivots and some good breaks on the ball."
