Who would you like to see start at weakside LB for us this year? Looks like Raonall has been taking most of the 1st team reps.. But has been injury prone.. Dontarrious is younger and quicker..but seems like he is less talented.. When Raonall is healthy he looks like he can be great.. Id have to say i want Smith to start this year.. How bout all of you?

Im kind of mixed on this. DT is definitely faster and built better, but Smith has shown lots of flashes, I just the competition brings out the best in at least one of them ...
me too. i would really like to see DT start this year.
There has to be something really special about Smith for us to keep him around. He wasn't drafted by the Tice Regime, and he has yet to do much of anything besides getting injured. However, He has definitely showed flashes of sheer brilliance and of being an awesome Linebacker for us. If he can stay healthy he should get the job hands down.
DT was so gosh darn horrible last year, I mean we might have done better to just play a chicken with its head cut off. I was super disappointed we drafted DT last year, If my memory serves me right Mike Boulware was still on the board of we passed him up for the likes of DT? All The missed tackles and times out of position should have his name out of contention for starting untill he can prove himself more, especially during the season.
DT does have a lot of physical tools, but so does smith, and so do a lot of other LBs that can gett eh job done a lot better than DT can.
Hopefully we can find someone to fill that WILL void tho.

Has anyone seen Rod Davis play LB? He's quick, strong, and always seems to be around the ball. I saw him play against Atlanta last year in a pre-season game. I don't know if he's injured or if it was a one-game wonder but that game he was pretty good.
Smith was drafted by Tice in his rookie year as head coach.
I like Smith better than DT, but he has yet to stay healthy.
Rod is tight, i think a bit underated by our fans, we have great depth at MLB and he's also a great special teamer.
I like DT but Smith is the guy I want to see on the field no doubt, if he can stay healthy he'll have a great season, as mike tice quoted when he was a rookie "he's everthing you want a OLB to be".
By the way manX84 i'm positive he was drafted in tice's first year.
