ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports two sources with knowledge of the situation have told ESPN.com Minnesota Vikings RB Onterrio Smith has been apprised by the NFL that he faces a one-year suspension for a repeat violation of the league's substance abuse program. The suspension is subject to appeal. Citing the league's confidentiality guidelines on such matters, an NFL spokesman on Thursday declined comment. Sources said the suspension has nothing to do with an April 21 incident in which Smith was stopped at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in possession of a device to circumvent drug tests.

That settles it...MB is now the man...thank God we didn't trade him (and I am pretty sure that I advocated this course of action at one time or another).

I hope that Onterrio can get his head on straight and realize that his stupid little habit (only stupid because it puts his job at risk) will end up costing him millions...I know that they call it Acupulco Gold, but it ain't real gold...and you can't pay your bills with it (well, maybe at the head shop, but not anywhere else).

Well they got rid of Randy Moss for being a "DISTRACTION" so they better get rid of O. Smith because this drug thing sure is a distraction. Mike Tice should be let go too because that Super Bowl ticket scalping fiasco sure was a distraction. Oh and they need to let Culpepper go too because of those friends of Culpeppers getting busted for weed in Culpeppers car sure was a "distraction". And let's not forget K. Cambell's little run in with the law and being busted for weed. Why are all these guys with their "distractions"still with the team and Randy Moss isn't?

I can't say I didn't see this coming...

It looks like Bennett starts if he can stay healthy and Moore & Fason fight it out for the back-up role. Truthfully, not surprised and not too disappointed. The guy totally gets what he deserves.
