Re: Slow sales could result in no TV for Vikings opener against Atlanta

I think it's all Singers fault, he did say he was cutting back on the amount of tickets he was going to buy this year...

If it doesn't sell out, I guess I'll be going to the game.
I haven't missed a Vikings game in 15 years, and I'm not about to start now...

And that is exactly why the blackout policy is in place.

That is becuase he will personally buy those tickets if he has to...
the money generated from the TV advertising sales outweights those of the tickets.
he will simply get a friend to buy the tickets and pay for them.

    5800 tickets left to sell X $75 (average) per ticket = $435,000.

I don't know if the advertising outweighs that.
Especially for every game of the season.

Plus, does Zygi actually generate revenue from the television sales?

Talk about a policy that hurts the fans. BS.

Yeah I think it's a pretty shitty policy myself.
Personally, I hate the MetroDump, and avoid it when I can, but I gotta see my Vikes.
That being said, I wish I could afford season tickets...
    :'(

I'm not really the bar type, otherwise I'd drive out of the metro somewhere and watch the game in one of those places.

$435,000 is chump change to someone like Zygi,
I bet on a regular basis, he drops that much in the Stock Market, and on others makes it back and then some......

I doubt Zygi(must remember how to spell that) will have to foot the bill. More likely local business would step in. Plus there is still some time before the game, alot of people are probably calling today to get tickets. Plus I'm sure some people will show up on game day to buy tickets. Plus I'm sure that the article that we are talking about will be motivation enough for a lot of people to buy tickets to make sure they see it.
The game will sell out. ;D

whether the game sells out or not I want to make sure people realize that this is a nfl rule.
If the stadiums dont reach the number of ticket sales that classify that particular stadium "sold out" then the game is not allowed to be view on TV in the area.
there fore this has nothing to do with Zygi, now the backing out of the building purchase is another story
