The similarities between the Vikings and the movie Eddie
Not sure if you all have seen that movie, but it's about some rich Texan buying the New York Knicks, getting rid of the experienced coach, hiring a fan from the nose-bleed seats to be coach (that being Whoopie Goldberg), giving her a cheap contract (in the movie it was $50,000 for the last half of the season), then, behind the scenes, is trying to move the team to St. Louis.
Now if this isn't pretty much the Vikings story played out on the big screen then what is. McCombs (the rich Texan), buys the Vikings, gets rid of Denny Green (experienced coach), hires Tice (an unqualified coach at the time), gives him less than a million a year (lowest paid coach in the NFL), then, behind the scenes, is looking at possible ways to move the team to LA.
I think this is quite interesting and hilarious. What does everyone else think about this?[/u]

I think Green was as useful as a poopy flavored lolly pop. I waited 5 years for them to fire him. I almost cried each time he raped the "D" to build that "O". Arizona can have him.
Tice's downfall is that he works for the cheapest owner in the NFL, Red *I squat on fire hydrants* McCombs. Given owner support, Tice would do MUCH better.

I didn't say Green was useful, just experienced. It fit in with the story. And I'm sure Tice will do better under new management.

Green was a better coach then Tice that's for sure. The "Raping" of the D was in motion before Green took over.
He has one of the best win percentages in the history of the Vikings. Considering free agency and the state of the game that is fairly impressive.
Green is a scape goat that helps ease the pain that we have an ape running our team for an owner who could care less.
9 and 1/2 years he coached we made the playoffs 8 Times
We had 10+ wins 5 times 9+ 3 times
We finished 1st in our division 4 times and 2nd 3 times
He brought in Moss someone a lot of people here love. He took over when a surge of great D players were on the way out.
He seems to be on the right track in Arizona as well.
I do see the similarities I wish we had Whoopi.
