My rationale is based on the assumption that he isn't lying and is trying to stay in MN.

In THIS case, however, they said he flew "several" times...that means he went back to the well. He HAD to know something was up, even if he never specifically asked that question (to protect himself if they got busted).

Just another negative check mark in the Rice column...

Maybe he uses the same travel agent everytime he flies and they are the ones using the cards.
What kind of travel agent uses stolen credit cards to purchase airline tickets? You'd think after 20 or 30 purchases that somebody would catch on. Lets face is...It's pretty hard to believe that Rice didn't have some idea of what was going on.

I like that her name is Winsome and her BOYFRIEND's name is Ashley ... you knew those people were fucked up.

Ever consider that someone makes these purchases on his behalf? A manager perhaps. Someone who deals with his finances and handles business for him.

There's a good chance he had absolutely no idea what was going on.

For all we know, someone could be buying the tickets and pocketing the extra cash... we know almost nothing about what's going on here.

Just like the Cook issue. Lets see what happens over time as the facts come out.
Moral of the story, be like a previous Vikings WR.. straight cash only ..lol

I think Marrdro is saying the Wilfs are becoming cheap.
He wants the profit and loss of his final year to be as big as possible to help sell the team, and also make as much cash as possible(he's no longer thinking long term).

Similar to what McCombs did before he sold the team(lowest coaching payroll in the nfl, traded Moss to reduce costs ect).
My guess is Wilf will sell the team and let some other owner move them to LA, so that he doesn't get hate mail the rest of his life(not saying I think there moving to LA, cause I don't, but if they do I doubt Wilf owns the team when they do).

Personally I think the lack of signings is directly related to the CBA. Very few teams gave big contracts, except those wacky Raiders.

    +1
Even if he was buying them himself, how would he know they were purchased with stolen credit cards? People sell things below retail for many reasons(employee discount, charged to business account, return policy is restrictive, ect).

We don't know any of the facts, but my suspicion is Rice is not quite so stupid as to buy, and use, airline tickets he knew were bought with stolen credit cards.
On a side note, 108 months in prison(9years) is a long time for stealing credit cards.

Doesn't make sense though. When you sell a company, you want to recover the cost of all assets. That's basicallywhat a company is worth. yes, there's other factors, but to put it quite basically, the more assets you have, the more your company is worth.

Microsoft, their brand equity is worth more than any brand in the world, that's an asset. Then their employees, buildings, land, patents, etc. are also assets. When you buy Microsoft, that's what you buy. If you're a shareholder, you own a part of all of that.

Same with a Football team. Players are assets. Not just their salaries(part of it), but they also have a "brand equity". Some big-name players, regardless of contract can be worth more than a guy like Greenway, who makes alot, but isn't as well known.

Having a great roster full of guys a team will want (Assuming you can retain them) is very valuable, would increase value of the team.
