That's pretty unfair, imo.
He's been a very solid player for us.
He's not a superstar or anything, but he's definitely a quality receiver.
let's go down the list shall we?
Dallas - WIlliams/Crayton - Nope
New York - Hixon/Smith/Nicks- Nope
Philly - Jackson/Williams/Maclin- Nope
Washington - Moss/Randle El- Nope
Buffalo - Owens/Evans- Hell Nope
Miami - Ginn/Camarillo/Bess- Nope
New England - Moss/Welker- HELL Nope
Jets - Stucky/Cotchery- Nope
Arizona - Boldin/Fitz- Hell Nope
San fran - Crabtree/Bruce/Morgan- Nope
seattle - Housh/Branch- Nope
St. Louis - Avery / Burton?? who? ok maybe he could start here...
Baltimore - Mason/Clayton- Nope
Cincy - Johnson/Coles- Nope

Tampa Bay - Bryant/Clayton- Nope
Houston - Johnson/walter- Nope
Indy - Wayne/Gonzalez- Nope
Jacksonville - Holt/Northcutt - maybe
Tennessee - Washington/Gage/Britt - Nope they gladly let him go so we know he wont here...
so ok, i was wrong, he'd probably start for about 2 other teams in the league.. maybe.. so what's that? 6% of the league would take him...
but he shouldn't be cut??.. Ryan Cook could start for more teams than that.. that should tell you something..
and
Wade > Allison
what does that tell you about Allison?"I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

yeah WTF, Wade has been a clutch player all around. makes important catches, great down field blocker. He never stops, always looking to make something happen on every play. Great 3rd down guy."bleedpurple" wrote:

Wade is decent but ideally he's a bumb!.. i would not be sad to see him cut...
Wade has led the team in receptions the past two seasons, but you want him cut?
im thinking Percey will get the start. Sidney and wade come in on 3rd downs

Bobby Wade isn't slotted to be our starter and never was meant to be, he was forced to at times because we were thin at the position.
There's a reason this article is "Rice & Harvin competing for starting spot".
Last year he wasn't supposed to be a starter, that's not were he excels.
Bobby Wade is a slot receiver, he's best suited in 3 and 4 WR's sets, where he can run short quick routes and is good at getting open.
Would he start on most teams?
Absolutely not - but not because he lacks in skill, but because his skills are best used in different ways.

If the only criteria you use to judge is number of catches.
If you judge by yards, yard/catch and TDs, he's not.

Would you rather have Receiver X who had 80 receptions for 325 yards and 3 TDs or Receiver Y who had 59 receptions for 1150 yards and 16 TDs?

Re: Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin competing for the starting spot
The dumbest thing we could do is start Bobby Wade, Wade has never been a #1 or a #2. He lacks athletic ability to consistently spererate from the top corners, he drops to many passes and just flat out lacks explosiveness. Good player though, tremendous 3 or 4, good football mind and great leadership.
If we want to take the next step in the passing game in runs through Harvin and Rice. Harvin is gonna be a beast right away IMO, a big time impact. If Rice is healthy I think he should start as the #2, leaving Harvin as the #3 and a Punt Returner.
It's gonna be extremely unfortunate if I look up and Wade is lined up on the outside, we need a real passing game, we need explosive targets for the QB.
