The most important thing is winning.. not so much the stats. Manning threw for 49 scores this year.. but what does that mean now?

I can't believe some of you guys! Culpepper is THE BEST QUARTERBACK IN THE NFC and you ALL know it, WITH OR WITHOUT MOSS!!!

While Moss is struggling with the ups and downs of streaky Kerry Collins in Oakland, Pep will be leading us to the promised land!

Look at Collins' numbers since 2000:

Year TM | G | Comp Att PCT YD Y/A TD INT
    | 2000 nyg | 16 | 311 529 58.8 3610 6.8 22 13 |
    | 2001 nyg | 16 | 327 568 57.6 3764 6.6 19 16 |
    | 2002 nyg | 16 | 335 545 61.5 4073 7.5 19 14 |

    | 2004 oak | 14 | 289 513 56.3 3495 6.8 21 20 |
    +----------+-----+---------------------------------------+-----------------+
    | TOTAL | 75 | 1546 2655 58.2 18052 6.8 94 79

    Now look at Pep's:

Daunte is the best out of that group, but I think he will have a hard time dealing with more aggressive defenses. Of course, I hope he proves me wrong.
    I agree.

Culpepper is just way too conservative sometimes. I do love Culpepper...do not get me wrong.

There is no doubt in my mind that he is in the top 5 of current QB's. Moss made it a lot easier for him though.

    ooops wait a minute!!!!
he hasnt got it figured out yet and he has had enough time to figure out what teams try to do to them with or without moss. and lots of times he looks totally lost or the wrong play is called. which there was plenty of that. he constantly forces the ball where it doesnt belong. and i think he needs glasses. did he not see trotter?
so smack me down like i deserve, for i truly deserve it. i sure do. for i know nothing i see nothing i hear nothing. i am jsut the big dumb caged animal.
the next to last loss to the giants, i saw at least five plays where jimmyK was wide open and pep didnt even look his way. those plays are burned in my mind. these plays were directly linked to the offense staying on the field.
training wheels need to come off.
take randys td's off pep stats over the years.
and then fairly replace them. then take out all the plays that other players made to make td's out of a six yard throw over the middle while the line is fresh and not frantic.
do you think he is really in charge out there on the field?
i can go on all day long
dont get me started. i am pissed because another hof wr may not retire a viking. OH I AM PISSED ALLRIGHT!!!!
i hope it is me who will have the (more)lumpy head
i fear it will be you socal
=D> =D> =D> That was one hell of a tirade. Believe me if I happen to wake up in bizarro world and Culpepper stinks it up next season, I'll be here to take my medicine. Either way, this will be settled.

To argue that Collins WAS better is insane...to argue that he WILL be is not. Daunte has had Moss his whole career, Collin' best reciever was, what? Amani Toomer? Ike Hilliard? Collins will have a break out season next year (for him anyways), Culpepper will be decent. The thing with him is sometimes you sit there and think," man, he gets better every year" then other times its like," there goes 2002 Daunte again. It should be very interesting to see what he can do in his first year without the best WR in football. Maybe Randy getting hurt last year was a blessing in disguise?

Culpepper will be fine. I hope he does more running actually, even if he still has fumbilitis (He was much better last year about his fumbling). His running really deflates the opposing defenses, and is a perfect added dimension to spread formations; spread em out, Pep sees nothing, Pep takes off into an empty field and gets 15 yards. Sounds good to me.

And what is this crap I keep hearing about Culpepper being so average, or using too many dump offs or short passes, or whatever? How does that make him a bad QB?
No, I think that makes him a good, no, great QB. A great QB knows not to force things, as we saw with Culpepper early on in his career. A great QB knows to take the dump off and get the first down, instead of throwing deep into double coverage. If a guy is 6 yards away accross the middle, wide open, and Culpepper sees him, then Pep should make that pass every single time.

I mean, christ, if you apply how some people think about Daunte, then Montana or Young weren't great QBs, simply because they threw short passes and let their receivers get more yards.

    Gimme a break.

Dude the reason why Daunte always dumped it off is because Randy stretched the field leaving the middle open. You can say bye to that now. Yes, Pepper learned how to not force it anymore...but he also takes less chances now. He traded off being way too risky for being way too conservative.

yes, yes it was. and i feel better. thank you.
if you think that i will be gloating if i think that moss made pep better than pep made moss better you would be mistaken.
if you think that this offense is going to plug in and make beautiful music without moss that is presumptuous!

pep for all the glorified STATS are mostly contibuted to peps players making BIG plays.
he has had the reigns for how long now and every year its the coord's, its moss, its team chemistry. whatevva!!!!
now the training wheels will be coming off know it alls!!!
some of you im sure are enamoured with pep and he is a great kid and all that but he has had not threat of looking behind him, he has had no major injuries, he has had world class speed at wr, a host of running backs that are more than capable, an above average line(s), and a defense tho not elite, certainly capable at times.
what more can you ask of this kid in as many years as he has been the starter? huh? i am so crazy in my bizzaro world?
