Should the Vikes run or pass more against da Bears?

What are your thoughts on this topic? I will check back after work tomorrow to put in my two cents worth.

Not to be conservitive at the beginning of the game. I think we need to go out winging the ball get some quick points then play conservitive.

Sounds good, but marching it down the field can have a positive effect on the offense as well and can set the tone for the rest of the game.

God, I hope the O-line can keep it together for more than three seconds so Culpepper can bomb one to Moss. I'd like to see some protection for the quarterback. Moss in single coverage deep--that's what I want.

We only pass more if its what the defense gives us. When we get into the redzone i expect a lot of passing to happen there as we can lob it to moss or robinson. I would like to run a bit as well to test our o-line as well.

I am not that worried what our offense will do agianst the Bears, I am more worried about our defense and how they will play (timid or agressive).

I am worried what our offense will do against da Bears, namely if they will score in the red zone. Our D did pretty decently against a very good Iggles O on Monday, it was the Vikes O that dropped the ball (pun intended).

I agree! I don't think I've worried about what our offense is going to do for the past 7 years. It's always the defense!

I think the D will step it up...there at home, and coming off a loss. I think they will try to prove themselves.

It was against da Bears last year when we went in the conservative mode. That reeked of ineffectiveness. A 60 yard drive only to turn it over several times in the red zone (see Iggles game - 1 inch line). Granted an 80 yard "grind-em out" type of a drive can demoralize and tire the opposing defense, but we seem so susceptible to turning the ball over that I'd rather establish the run to set up the pass for scores, THEN go conservative.

Ya know, we have two speedster deep threats in Moss and Robinson - if one is double covered the other isn't. It's as simple as that (as long as Haayer can give Daunte more than one second in the pocket).
