I thought Cedric Griffin had an absolutely awesome game yesterday. Yes he was covering unheralded recievers for the most part, but he looked good. He swooped in and made tackles even when giving the WR some cusion.
Personally I think he played better than Smoot has played in any game this season. That's just my opinion though.

Although I believe he was the one beat on the long touchdown before the half.
He covered the receivers a lot tighter than Smoot ever did.
I think smoot has lost his edge.

I think Griffin deserves a shot, too. But, I think it would be a little cold of the Vikings to tell Smoot "Hey, we're sorry you lost your half-brother, but while you were away mourning, this rookie stole your job". That's just not how a professional organization operates.
Wait a week, then demote him.
It wasn't Griffin who got beat on the Driver TD before the half it was the saftey and the LB. It was a zone.
The defense is open to attack from the air. It is either a design flaw or it is requiring people to do things they do not have the ability to do.
I don't think it will matter who you have in there.

Smoot didn't even play last week and we have people still pinning defensive problems on him! ;D
Seriously, Griffin played a decent game... against Green Bay.
Smoot has played decent games his last few games.
Smoot has not been a problem so why would you replace him?
I like Griffin, and I think he will be a starting CB soon, but for now I think the nickle spot is the correct spot for him.
Griffin has done well in place of DeVonte...
He just needs to prove he can be a shutdown corner, which I think he has the ability to do.
All in all, I'm a Showtime fan. He's gonna be good.
I am not bashing Smoot.
I just think Griffin is better is pass defense.
Even when his guy caught the ball Griffin was right there for the tackle.
Smoot plays to far off.
I thought it was the design of the defense but then we should have seen Griffin play that far off.
I just think we are paying Smoot to much money for his position.
He is getting Winfield money.
Would you compare him to Winfield?
We could use the money on Lance Briggs in the off season!!!
Seriously Devonte Edwards sucks. He's no more then a dime back. It makes me laugh how everyone thinks he's got game ever since his INT for TD last year agianst the Pack.
But back to the Griffin debacle....let's wait a few more games to see how Smoot plays first.
