Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
Quote:
"We work out five days a week, and I know he [definitely] has it in him," Shiancoe said. "He's indicated to me this is the first time he's been able to workout at 100 percent without having to worry about previous injuries. He's working hard, and it looks like he's in camp shape. His route running would [definitely] help our offense."
Shank [definitely] has a lot to say lately ;)
Re:Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
Thanks for the read my friend....... Two thoughts.....
1. Its the comment about "Previous Injuries" that worries me. I think we have enough in the RB stable but if they brought him in and gave him a shot on a low ball contract, I wouldn't be to upset.
2. I like it that we have a few guys speaking out. Nice to see some of our guys taking a active leadership role. Kindof think it is something that is missing on this team.
Re:Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
Although Westbrook and Tomlinson are both a bit long in the tooth for RB's I wouldn't complain about seeing a vet backing AD up, the fact Chester has gone still worries me.

Re:Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
Interesting. I bet this happens in the end. I am for it.
Re:Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
Everybody's buddy should get a job
Re:Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
He needs to retire to avoid ending up like Muhammad Ali. Sad. The concussions are cumulative, and he is done.
Re:Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
I personally think Westbrook really must not have much left in the tank or there would be a lot more demand for him out there.
Of course, you never know the entire story. He could be turning away from crappy teams because he is more comfy retiring than playing for a non-contender.
I would definitely not mind seeing him here and think he could be a solid mentor for some of the younger guys.

I think he is just waiting for the best offer/situation. He probably wants to play for a winner with a familiar scheme, the sticking point likely being money/playing time.
Westbrook is just being smart, making his agent work for his percentage after raking in the cash for the last 7 years.
If the Coaches wanted to take a chance on Westbrook I would be all for it, even though Reynaud is growing on me as a potential 3rd down RB.
Re:Shiancoe: Westbrook could help Vikings
Westbrook on the Vikings.
I don't like it. Not at all.
