Shank is solid. Not good. Not great."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

I was wondering why people wanted him off the team instead of just benched
Im not gonna lie I had high hopes for Shank and he was disapointing me in the beginning.. Had he got benched I would have thought it was justified

Re: Shiancoe takes shape
I was very disappointed in the Shank acquisition going into last season and the first few games.
His play came around nicely and if he continues to play the way he did through the latter half of last year, my concerns for this position have greatly reduced.
I won't put him on my pro bowl ballot, but he is a weapon and proved he can be a reliable receiving outlet that has been greatly needed in our offense.

Re: Shiancoe takes shape
As long as Shank doesn't drop TD passes, like he did in his first season, he's a decent TE.
What I want is D's having to game plan for him.
D's have been concentrating on AD and starting to respect BB.
Percy is going to be a wildcard, as they don't know how Chilly will use him.
Now if Shank can become a serious threat, I will be cheering and D's will be crying.

Re: Shiancoe takes shape
If Shank really did drop weight I think he could have a breakout season this year. He was already a vertical threat, and his pass catching really came along last year, if he continues to improve and gets even faster he will be scary.
I'm not sure that I agree him losing weight will make him a necessarily worse blocker. Witten isn't huge but is considered a great blocking TE. Maybe being a little more nimble can be a good thing for a blocker...
If we wanted blobs we would have kept 2 Tonne Tony.
