“I think he’s got sneaky speed down the middle of the field,” Childress said. “He runs very well. He’s able to drop some man-to-man coverage.”
I guess it's no longer sneaky.

    Thanks Singer.

I think this guy is gonna help take some of the pressure of TJ as well both from a blocking standpoint as well as catching the ball.

Man I can't wait to see these guys play.

Well depending on how well the OL plays and T-Jack handles the pressure then Shiancoe could be vital as a release valve - in much the same way as Wiggins was when he was here.
Hopefully he'll show that he was a good pickup

Shiancoe is going to have a Shockey type season. When other teams stack the box, he is going to get down the seam and shake a safety. He is also a better blocker than Shockey. Wiggens wasn't as fast and never pushed the seam like we are going to this year. A safety will have to be responsible for our TE, and this will open up single coverage for a WR, or put a LB on CT, AP, or MeMo. Mismatches my friends.

The pros and cons with Shiancoe is that he's an unknown quantity - backing Shockey up meant he was never going to get much playing time. So we're in the dark as much as anyone else in the league. Here's hoping we have the pleasant surprise whilst the opposition is in shock

Actually, he did get playing time with the Giants, they just never used him very much as a receiving option...

    Played in 16 games all 4 years with 7, 7, 5, 4 starts.
They mostly used him as a blocker.
But, I've seen the kid play, and he's got the hands and routes to make a difference for us.

Let us not forget, the Giants used a 3rd round pick on him, and I believe the Giants have some good scouts who are always picking out good talent.
They had to see and know something they liked about him, but he played in the shadows of Sucky...

A 3rd rounder would tell me he's got a solid chance at stepping up for us and being a gem, found in the rough....

I think we all will be happy with his play this year.....Barring any injuries of course..

He sure looked good in training camp...catching most all of what was thrown to him.
AND he laid out Darren Sharper on Saturday while turning upfield....Sharper was so shaken up that he didn't sign autographs with the rest of the select defensive players like he was scheduled to do.
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Can catch and isn't afraid to lay out some lumber if needed.
