Sorry, but I kind of was hoping we would get rid of him, not that I don't like him I just think he's getting too old, he missed so many tackles this year not to mention he was late on coverage and everything else.
Im glad to here hes staying. Hes too good of a player to lose IMO.
was there ever any doubt? that thing was blown way outta proportion..they just wanted to get a look at greg blue to see where he was at as a defensive player..there was never any chance of sharper being gone

I would not call him one of the best safeties in the game anymore; there are a lot of better players now.Quote:

I was not too happy with his play this year, against the run and pass.

He's not even close to being a hall-of-famer.
That said - prior to the Cover 2, he had the freedom in Cottrell's defense (and at Green Bay) to do a lot of free-lancing in the secondary in an attempt to make big plays.
In the Cover 2, he wasn't allowed to do it, and his play suffered as a result.
If he's willing to play within the system, I'd rather have him than not.
But if he's not, then it's probably time for him to move on.
=Z=
He's still a playmaker, and has atleast 2 more yrs of good football. I like Greg Blue, but he's not as "sharp" yet. Skol
He's always made his living on taking chances. Sometimes they pay off sometimes they do not.
I do not see him changing his playstyle to fit the cover 2.
Hopefully he can find someway to become more productive for us this season.
