Game keeps Sharper from dwelling on free agency
Darren Sharper can become a free agent after the season, and he doesn't intend on retiring.

I do like the guy, but I just don't think Minnesota is a good fit.
He needs a scheme where he's allowed to play center field, something this scheme doesn't allow.
You'll notice he did great under Cottrell, where he was allowed that, but instantly got bad when Tomlin took over?
I doubt it.
I think if he went elsewhere, he'd still be pretty good.

I like him, but he's not the player he was a few years ago, or even last year.
I'd love to re-sing him, but I think Tyrell Johnson can be better for us next year.

Re: Sharper a FA after the season, doesn't intend on retiring
Seems to me it wasn't but a year or so ago he was bragging on how TE's can't out run him or score on him.
How's that working out this year?
:
Problem here is that he has a bit of gas in the tank and can provide some nice leadership for the younger guys, but will he sign a low cost/bargain basement deal that equates to his current skill level.
Let him hang around but don't spend to much on him. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

What that sounds like to me is that he's a year older and the body starts to slow down without the mind seeing it. That's just the way it goes, the mind thinks one thing and the body does something completely different."i_bleed_purple" wrote:

I know in the Bears game when Hester ran that slant in front of him , and made him look like his feet we're cemented to the ground I was thinking Sharper makes that play , what is going on? uff da vikes is right , he is getting up there in years for a "skill position" player in the NFL .
